Fractal Talk

I think the main things and reasons for and Axe4 would not be the amp modelling but things
Like new GUI
Storage and CPU to Dynacabs
For amp modelling if anything I would predict perhaps less models but the one model maybe having everything on one page for Example Dzl herb channel 2 , there would be the mid cut and the +/- switch all on the same page instead of seperate models
Cliff had mentioned current CPU constraints don’t allow that to be done but maybe in the future

For authenticity that would be another step fwd to have all switch and buttons on the front panel of the real amp to be available to the user
Touch screen. You could select a knob or parameter by pressing it. It grows in size taking up a good portion of the screen and "turn" it by swiping left or right. it reverts to the default view a second or two after you let go. It might save cost by getting rid of multiple encoders.

Ill be looking forward to the new Amp Toanz and also big for me is the Noise gate Improvement

You know, I’ve been reading up on EMI/RF as I have major interference coming through my equipment at home. I just need to figure out the best method on tracking it down and eliminating it.

Not an easy task there are many possible culprits
After trying many things really its the noise gate as my only solution
Of course moving around the room to find the sweet spot where there is less interference
Other than that not much you can do

I think if you wire a 1/4” jack to an electrical socket you can plug a 1/4” cable into your ass and when plugged into the wall you’re thoroughly grounded while acting as an EMF shield. Not sure how it works but trust me, bro.

Edit- Just turn the breaker off for the outlet when wiring the 1/4” jack in, don’t wanna zap yourself.

Do your neighbours have a satellite dish? I would start with disconnecting that
Have you seen cases where it clearly is the cause?

I used to follow an EMF expert (RIP) whose wife was very electro sensitive.
It's only thanks to her that he discovered that sitting in line with a dish is doing something. He could not pick it up with any of his (IIRC) 40 devices, and he had all kinds, from very scientific to "alt science."

From him I do know that dirty electricity spikes from cabling alone can come into the room for several feet. Stetzer filters can help that to a good degree (which IIRC are really just condensators... that sometimes can catch fire -- maybe just like many of them, I suppose. Not sure these filter devices are more than general risky).

Something like that  is in the book Earthing. They claimed grounding yourself kind of created an umbrella with EMFs deflecting over you. They later retracted that part somewhere, as they were too fast in claiming that... The opposite is more likely according to the expert I trusted more.

I have an old dish on the side of the house that’s disconnected. Surely that wouldn’t cause any interference?

None that you can hear or detect with a device, AFAIK. It is probably a very subtle thing that only spooks out very electro sensitive people. He often stated that very subtle signals can be the worst, which kinda makes sense in several ways to me.

I was looking through an old thread on the Fractal Forum where Cliff mentioned he had an issue with his water meter. My meter is under the porch so I’m pretty confident that the water department has an RF transmitter installed on it for remote reading. I’m going to investigate.

Anyone know of a novel way of locating RF without expensive equipment? I really don’t want to use my guitar. 😂 @FractalAudio?

Yes here in Quebec Hydro Quebec uses smart meters which are big culprits of EMI pollution

Forgot you were in Canada. Make sure you set the noise gate for metric RF, it won't work if you leave it on the default Imperial RF setting.
