Let me Gasp you up.

FM9 on it's own is great. Love it. But it's big. And if you want to add anything else to it; it becomes cumbersome, imo. The FM3 for me is a Stomp replacement. Post fx and routing that will sit on top of my amp with the GM on a small board. I can bring the FC12 with me or just the FC6, connect my expression pedal and have a couple of different available footprints to control it all with, depending on how big the "stage" is.

The 9 and the FM3 seem to be on the same update cycle. So it serves a completely different purpose from the III which will stay at home and be the center of the cr@ckhub.

^this really got me rethinking the PS100 the other day. I am admittedly Influenceable AFTM :facepalm :rofl

Gigging the III in the rack and having it all packed in had me thinking on the open gear concept where I can access all the knobs and levels I need to tweak volumes/mixes of things on the fly. That small FM/GM board on top of a PS would be KILLER rig in a small package.

Finally had time to watch that video and using the UA pedals is such a ridiculous number of hoops to jump through to get two different sounds where you dial the pedals to work with cab or the DI and the other one is subpar. HX Stomp + IRs of your favorite cab with a few different mics? That would be much better.

Putting things on top of the Power Station is not something I recommend. It gets hot and needs space for air to circulate from the top and back. I think a FM3 would cover enough of the vents to be a problem, plus the fan on the bottom of the FM3 would draw in hot air.

My BluGuitar rig weighs a fraction of this and all it's missing is good cab sims and some fx. The Amp X might turn out to represent this concept well because it will do everything in that video in one box.

At what point do we reach trading this all for a HX Stomp 😀
I'm jinxing myself publicly. But I think my last time with the Stomp will be my last. Until the next gen happens, whenever that is. I feel the way I did when I offed that last Kemper. I loved the ease of use and form factor but sounds for me are always going to either be FAS or some irritatingly not a Rectifier amp model in a Boss turd.

I'll also say my BluGuitar rig weighs a fraction of this and all it's missing is good cab sims and some fx. The Amp X might turn out to represent this concept well because it will do everything in that video in one box.
Yeah I can see the FM3 and PS melting each other as they blast each other with blazingly hot air :rofl

This Is Fine GIF

My understanding is that the fan in the power station is for the reactive load and that the tubes and related circuitry are fine with passive cooling. As long as you leave the feet / side bumpers on the FM3 I don’t think it would be any cause for concern to stack them.

Haha! Not about any editing. I don't sing that tired tune. It's the size.

For me. :idk

Nobody talking about the start of the Gift of Tone today 😀

I don't think they're doing a full-bore one like last year. They said that was a pretty massive undertaking, and it asked a lot of their artists. But this is unexpected and pretty cool.
