Does that make you New Hampshire royalty, then?

The “town” only has a population of 300 people, so… yes! The only person in NH more powerful than me is the King of Davis Realty! :rofl

Fun fact: my many-times-great grandpa came to Massachusetts by boat from England in June 1630.

Not so fun fact: his second wife (not related to me!) was an accuser in the Salem Witch Trials, which is unfortunately why the lineage tracing back to him has been documented :bag

My wife and I moved to MA about eight years ago and have been to Salem a few times. We did one of those guided historical walking tours of Salem and it was really interesting. Some of the parallels between the moral panic of the which trials and things going on in society currently were readily apparent. The town has turned the which trial legacy into a quite lucrative tourism industry. Its an odd place.

The village I currently live in was mentioned in the Domesday book, going back to at least 1086... ;)

We also have a castle or two close by... ;)

I grew up not far from Stephen King’s house, where it’s kind of a rite of passage to drive by growing up as a Mainer. That’s about as close as I can get to your post. :rofl

I think a huge chunk of New England is all related to each other when you go that far back. Lots of inbreeding.

hahahahahha I still have this vivid memory from 6th grade when a classmate asked another classmate “Are you dating your cousin again?” and the other girl answered “Yeah” so matter of fact that I can hear it perfectly in my head 30 years later. They finally stopped “dating” in high school. :rofl

(this is not a joke)

Sh*t, is that your ancestor? Died on Gallows Hill in 1692, Salem?! I hope my psycho step-not-great-at-all Grandma wasn’t involved :bag
Most likely yes. My lineage is tough to trace due to an ancestor in the early 1800s possibly changing their name - long story involving bigamy charges. :giggle: No hard feelings, though. I’m likely related to people on both sides of that mess. History is full of people doing crazy horrible things.
