Fractal Talk

Most likely yes. My lineage is tough to trace due to an ancestor in the early 1800s possibly changing their name - long story involving bigamy charges. :giggle: No hard feelings, though. I’m likely related to people on both sides of that mess. History is full of people doing crazy horrible things.

Hahahah my ancestor is my humble brag-

William Dampier (baptised 5 September 1651; died March 1715) was an English explorer, pirate, privateer, navigator, and naturalist who became the first Englishman to explore parts of what is today Australia, and the first person to circumnavigate the world three times. He has also been described as Australia's first natural historian, as well as one of the most important British explorers of the period between Sir Francis Drake (16th century) and Captain James Cook (18th century); he "bridged those two eras" with a mix of piratical derring-do of the former and scientific inquiry of the latter. His expeditions were among the first to identify and name a number of plants, animals, foods, and cooking techniques for a European audience, being among the first English writers to use words such as avocado, barbecue, and chopsticks. In describing the preparation of avocados, he was the first European to describe the making of guacamole, named the breadfruit plant, and made frequent documentation of the taste of numerous foods foreign to the European palate such as flamingo and manatee.

That’s all a really nice way of saying “He was a pirate that almost got his head chopped off by the Queen until she found out he could make her very rich so she gave him his own boat and crew and said “Go make me money, motherfucker” and he did.

Darwin used his journals for his own research, Gulliver’s Travels is loosely based on him and are brother down under Leon might not have made it down there had my ancestor not mapped out Northern Australia back in the day!

Fortunately, his history isn’t full of atrocities, the biggest one probably being that becuase it was bad luck to have have a woman on board a ship, he towed a whole ship full of women behind his to “keep the crew appeased” :rofl

Wanna bet whether it comes up in a future transaction?
"$800 is a little high. How about you knock off another $50? You know, the whole nana thing and all..... "

Damn, now that’s an impressive history, but I have to say of all his accomplishments, bringing guacamole to Europe is the one I admire most :chef

Side note: can you all imagine what all of our storied ancestors who survived insane odds would think of how we spend our time now?

“Rough day today, got up, had a poop, spent a couple hours shitposting on TGF.”

“I circumnavigated the globe three times and almost had my head lopped off!”

“That’s nice grandpa, let’s get you to bed.”

Man, I think about that a lot. My ancestor has a few published journals and books written about him, reading some of that stuff and knowing they literally just got on boats and said “Fuck it, let’s go that way” and actually DID IT is INSANE to me. Like it’s one thing to jump on a boat for 3 months and know you’ll probably get where you want to go, but to just look into a blank ocean and go……that takes balls we can’t even comprehend in 2023.

And not just in the water, but all over the world. Giant fucking balls.

Incalculable magnitude of balls.

That reminded me of a premium quality song. You’re gonna love it or your money back

All so one day you could open this glorious forum and smoke a blunt while reading the shitposts here. I salute that man.

Just my 2 cents.... and a little experience using various power sources. This is where
something like a Power Station can come in super handy. Or a tube amp with an
FX Return. :idk

I am also happy with other solutions. But there is something to be said for tube power
sections that make all the various solid state options a bit of compromise. Not that
compromise is a bad thing. :beer
I was going to say, @FractalAudio ’s post sounds like it should be titled “Why the Powerstation is probably your best option for AxeFx amplification“ LOL. Look at the LXII if you must have stereo.
