Whats coming in 2025 modeling wise?? bluamp x? helix replacement? fractal?

Man I hope y’all are wrong about the TMP/QC layout. Lame shit.
The direct interface on the tmp is pretty good, as far as editing goes. I think the whole way you select an amp or effect is terrible and cumbersome and slow. And the software interface is lacking so many features. But, if Kemper came out with a new stage with an interface like the tmp (big screen, colored buttons, easier to navigate) it would be a grand slam. Like, a Denny's style slam.

I’m less speaking to the interface than to the lack of an onboard expression pedal and having to use the switches as knobs.

I/O Seems pretty trivial at this point and its funny how 3 vs 6 buttons or built in expression pedal vs no exp pedal is a dealbreaker for people on either side (for instance I personally dont want a built in expression pedal on the TMP because it sits on my desk and its extra crud... but I also get that in most other scenarios it would probably be handy).

Wouldnt surprise me if someone like a fractal or helix would have a base unit like an FM3 with side ports to start adding rows of buttons or Expression pedals and you can build out your unit to your own spec. Should be relatively easy to detect what module is being bolted on and give the appropriate layout options in presets. I understand its exponentially more work but when you consider real scenarios like 3-12 buttons and 3 exp pedals its not that crazy level of configs to accommodate for. At this point it would also be a great USP for a modelling unit because people love to customise setups.

I would defenitely like that, simply because rolling your own external controller sucks with each and every unit as there's no bidrectional communication (which is a pretty sad affair to start with, fwiw - I mean, things such as the Mackie HUI protocol exist since 20+ years).
Anyhow, otoh, spending money for proprietary controllers defenitely isn't what my doctor ordered, either.

AH. I prefer the separate pedal so that i can pick my own, place it where i want it, and have easier swap should it fail. The switches as knobs thing is awesome.

In 27 years of playing guitar the closest thing to an expression pedal fail I’ve experienced was my Helix LT not calibrating to 100%, it stopped at 99, lol. Hardly a failure and without a display I probably would have never even known. I don’t go around touching the bottom of my shoes for good reason, not sure I would want to have to touch something I touch with the bottom of my shoes, either. I see the QC and TMP as desktop devices with optional floor functionality.

That looks suuuuussssppppicccciousssllyyyy like the connection protocol used on the ROLI Blocks eco-system. What am I looking at here??

Starting the "waiting game" in this decade (2020->) is probably the worst decision one can make based on.... because shit happens... and that shit has a long lasting effect on everything.

The old saying, get what you need know, and use it.. applies. Those who said and did that that pre 2020 was right even though that time felt like anything new could come anyday... well it didnt. Nothing (expect the same things) came, and the waiters (?) continue to wait

Be creative and play with whats avaliable now.
