What are we watching now?

Still watching Grotesquerie.....still confused 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm still struggling with it, cannot figure out why I don't like it.....keep watching, more to figure out why it sucks so bad .... especially considering the level of actors in it.....

Sadly, one is Travis Kelce..... terrible actor... :facepalm

It's by American Horror Story peeps, iirc? That should be your answer. Oof.
Could have been better ....kind of a nolan-esque thing....but worse....momento, but dreams....but psydrama....but a few terrible actors.....and the story is lacking, for me.🤷🏻‍♂️

Kelce meant I'd never be starting it :grin
I felt the same ....but I actually forgot...and then the wife.....so yeah. Oops.

Edit -- show sucks....story is dumb...don't waste your time. I try not to read reviews beforehand. But, I would have saved a week if I did.... terrible. Sad actually.

I don't know. I think he does a fairly convincing job of portraying Taylor Swift's boyfriend on the Global Stage. :idk

Cuckoo. Oddball A24-like film. Girl goes to live in the German Alps with her father, stepmom and step sister. Creepy and super odd things ensue, immediately.

In the end; no real making sense of things. I thought it was great beyond that. Usually I am not into horror that tries to elevate and be clever for the sake of being clever. This one somehow did that, but kept it weird and creepy without being too weird. It rode that line probably better than anything I have seen in quite some time. It's an odd one. It has a 5.8 on IMDB and I wouldn't disagree. But I would say it is one of the best 5.8s I have seen. Recommended with caveats.

Watched the Penguin season finale. Oof. This was a good one. Did not expect some of the things that transpired. Great performances by Farrell and Milioti \m/

We just watched Copycat from 1995. Sigourney Weaver is great in this. I feel like she was working very hard on this performance, and it just felt extremely real. Holly Hunter gives a really cool performance that's understated. This was my second time seeing it, and it was cool, as I remembered. It did leave me feeling like I wish more time was spent on characterization outside of Weaver's character, that the rest of the cast just never gets developed enough to hit you when changes occur.

Harry Connick, Jr., though, gives a totally ridiculous and terrible performance. I love it when musicians or sports stars are famous, so they think they're now great actors too. William McNamara is not quite as ridiculous, but headed in that direction.

The concept is really interesting, but very disturbing, and it's effectively done overall, once you can get past the bad acting of the two dudes I mentioned.

Yes.........Yellowstone started up again last night....love it! I know some have a strong aversion to this show, but I look at it like the KC Chiefs......a lot of people hate em, and a lot of people love em....wudda ya gonna do?....¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Can't wait for next week now.........

So I did that thing each time it starts back up where I go "Oh hey; we have Paramount Plus. We can watch it live!" only to re-remember for the 37th time that you have to have Paramount Network, not Paramount Plus (or any of the 15 other subs we have for streaming) to watch it live.
:hmm:mad::LOL:

Yellowstone is like Dallas and Dynasty had a baby. It's a bona fide Mexican Soap Opera for White People.

:sofa

With all the melodramatic overacting (from women) and unrealistic soticism (from the men) any dignified
person could handle in an hour.

Signed,
Mostly White Person

:rofl

We've had to watch this at a snail's crawl and in short increments (no spoilers!) but I love just about everything about it. The cast is great, as is this depiction of Gotham itself. Cristin Milioti is amazing.
