Two Notes OPUS!!!

The Opus can accept speaker level signal through it though, so it works as a DI box whereas HX Stomp does not.

Ok, that's actually a valid point (and one of the reasons I mentioned the Pangaea, because that's the scenario I used it in for a while).

So, I think the Opus looks and seems nice. The only (personal) downside here is that I only bought the CAB M+ a year ago.

In the video he says “Future proof usb C specification” ….so it outputs audio via USB C? As in plug Opus into a laptop and get a modeled amp rig with all the DynIR and post processing to your DAW? If so, does it send a DI as one channel and processed audio as another?

Hi @Enchilada Jones,

Great questions! So the USB-C connection is for connecting to the Torpedo Remote App, principally for Firmware Updates and DynIR transfers!

For Dual Mono Routing, check out the section in our manual - https://wiki.two-notes.com/doku.php?id=opus:opus_user_s_manual#line_out_routing

Let me know if you have any further questions!

I hate to say but it sounds pretty bad in that video. And I love Michael's playing and tones in just about everything he does.
Agree! Brett's video sounds good though - so probably just like anything else it's how it get dialed in.

What's the consensus on the DynIR system? I'm finding ever since Line 6 updated their cab modeling that I'm liking that approach a lot better than flipping through IRs (though I still have my go-to York Audio IRs)

Busy day at work, can someone give me the cliff notes on why I should hate this?

From the manual .... for those that may run Digital Pedals before and/or after the Opus ... this is the end-to-end Latency of the whole Opus pedal by itself:-

Latency is 2.2ms with an IR Length at 40ms
Latency is 3.5ms with an IR Length at 100ms
Latency is 4.8ms with an IR Length at 200ms

I think this could be an excellent choice for a small board ... ie: Opus + Stomp or HX FX + EP where only 1 or 2 Amp types are wanted or needed.

The no-more-than 10 Amps though is ... i.m.h.o ..... a massive restriction ... other than modeling more Amps, I cant see how adding more Amp Slots would be anything other than a FW Upgrade (?)

But I'd buy this any hour of any day over the over-priced-under-spec'd-never-updated UAD "stuff" ..... my disdain for UAD and how they treat their customers is on marginally behind NDSP.

Ben
