New Headrush pedalboard: Headrush Prime

But Tonex is a profile loader? There's no "preamp" and "cab"; there's a NN, and a IR loader. And placing FX before, or after, the latter will basically make no difference whatsoever. IRs are not dynamic systems.

All in all, it's important to keep in mind this is a (comparatively) cheap device.
Put a harmonizer before vs after an IR and see, isn't that a case where the position matters?

Hullo. I'm the BFD Product Owner. When I'm not actin' the fool on here, I'm working my sweet-ones off to get new versions of BFD out the door.

More or less you can thank ROLI for adding 6 years of latency to the BFD schedule! ;)

We've got lots of plans, and are all working hard, but we're a small team and it takes time.

As for Headrush Prime... I've not used one. There's no overlap between my role and the HR team, so I can't say anything useful really.
that's great to hear. BFD still has league leading drum sounds after all these years and they are still in my rotation. BFD reminds me of Kemper. Ahead of its time but let the competition catch up. IMO, the sounds are still fantastic but it needs an up to date mixer and overall graphical GUI and feature set that mirrors a lot of what Toontrack have done. Tap to find grooves, live audition of pieces, the effects on the mixer page like most software and drag and drop everywhere. Many think Toontrack has the best product but when it comes to sounds, but I don't find that to be true. All the best to making it work out.

in a couple of years we will be installing the Kemper code on a L6 hardware unit ;-)
I would love it if there was something equivalent to a .dng file that all of these devices could load. ..

latency filled captures
real-world experience
Yes this keeps getting mentioned but there are several videos using multi-effect signal chains where it doesn’t seem to be an issue

Real-world experience vs firsthand real-world experience is almost meaningless .. with all due respect ..I can’t deal with perceivable latency either, at all, but since for whatever reason it’s always easier to try Headrush products in a store than other brands, if this device ticked boxes for me, I’d want to verify.

Yeah, tonex not having spdif seems like a GIANT miss
if it’s used on a recording gig, you most likely take a laptop and the pedal, or leave the pedal home and just take a bus powered interface .. and while I do use spdif recording the Kemper, it does have great-sounding adda converters, which I’m guessing isn’t as uncommon as it used to be.

Just been looking through the manual: is it really NOT possible to assign multiple things to one footswitch? If so, that'd be enough of a showstopper already.
But then, it's even larger than a Helix Floor (which is too huge to start with already, one of the reasons I sold it) and there's no global block funtionality, either. So, thanks for nothing I suppose.

Sure it is. Scenes.

Guessing you’d be biased, how does BFD compare to this old EZ Drummer 2 I’m still using?

Oh no, I'll be honest, trust me. BFD is objectively much more detailed and advanced than EZD2, and even EZD3. Our libraries achieve a level of realism that EZD2/3 just doesn't have. Whether you as the end user care about that, is another question. Some people genuinely don't - they just want to load a preset and get something that sounds passable, very quickly.

But BFD3 also asks a lot of the user, is complicated to use, and doesn't have as smooth a workflow as EZD2/3 or Superior Drummer. It's a power tool that is in need of some upgrades for sure, which is what we are planning. Right now it also isn't very competitive on large display monitors, where you really need to be able to clearly read things - BFD3 was released in 2013 and was designed for 1080p.

Ultimately, it's an older product, which is why we recently lowered the price. But still stand toe to toe with the rest of the competion, beating them in some areas, and not in others.

We really need to get our demo back up online!!

I don’t even use the interface of the EZ Drummer. I prefer to manually edit my midi and only use it for the sounds. I RARELY find any of the built-in midi or the search feature for that matter useful.
