New Fractal speculation thread

They could cut the price way down by making the pedal smaller, no screen, more knobs, and shift buttons to control amp parameters. Companion software could control Dyna Cabs. Arrow buttons to control cab selection. Sell each amp model separately as expansions.

Everyone has a different need/want......but I think if it comes down to price, I'd get rid of the screen. Also, it would be enticing from a business standpoint to sell each model separately.
This is like the exact opposite of what everyone is asking for 🤣

I kinda want them to do a ... I dunno... like a 3U rack unit or something maybe... with a huge ass grid, and loads of DSP resources available... kinda like the VP4, but on acid, and with amps too.

That'd be dope. Don't think it needs IEC connector for midi or anything like that though.

That product would be dope. Also. My life is good as far as gear goes.

This could have been called "New new Fractal mystery product speculation thread", but you have failed. Give your head a shake!

Once you add external power supply - how much would you save in terms of size/weight?
Depends on how big the new unit might be. But even if there is a separate PSU, it would still save space in terms of the space needed in a gigbag. Currently, I need to carry a separate bag to carry the FM3. If the new unit is the same or less than the size of the VP4, then I'm good to go. The FM3 is about an inch too big for the biggest pocket of my Mono dual gig bag—which is by far the biggest pocket I've ever seen on a gig bag.

Taken in consideration some of your comments... here it is VAC3. :geek:

Nice 3D models!

I have a few complaints of this design:
  • I'd put the buttons on one side so you don't have that stacked Page button layout and don't have to go between left and right side to do things.
  • Edit button is probably redundant? What would it even do?
  • Don't need LEDs on knobs because the screen can show that stuff. Probably can't fit into quite that small space either?
Otherwise I like:
  • Dedicated knobs for the common controls, that double as context based controls.
  • Quick buttons to select amp or cab block.
