Namm 2025 predictions

What's the guitar figure Leon is playing at the end of this video? It's lovely.

(Also: cool Californian!)

I believe that’s a Ragdoll tune, I have that riff stuck in my head all the damn time and about a month ago “wrote” a version of it that I was going to get up off the couch to start recording until I realized it’s Leon’s riff. :rofl

I wrote the pre-chorus to "Up All Night" by Slaughter, before I ever heard that song.

You know, those same, simple 3 chords that had been used in that exact order, a thousand times before that? :rofl

I did write/play them in that exact rhythm though, before them, I will say that, lol.

Haha! This is why there is such an heavy and intense use of the Capo in Nashville.

Trying to throw us off the scent of the same 2 or 3 chord progressions used
over and over again by changing the Key signature.... but never the chord shapes.

I’m the worst. Had been in a rut for a month when I started creating what I knew was going to end up really great. Just something a bit off on the last chord change to get it properly resolved. A friend walks in, I proudly show him my new idea and he says ‘I’ve never heard it like that’ I said what do you mean? He says ‘use e 9 for the last bit instead.’

And voila I wrote Purple Rain years after some dude named Prince did 😩

I was talking about this with my friends last week. Actually, we have so much great tools already in our hands, and we can already create great music with them. Emulation is not what it was in 2005.

I'm all for new products, but so much people seem to complain about the lack of this or that, like they were useless devices.

That also goes for the "100% authenticity" of amp modelling. Not having an exact replica of a vintage amp is not what's preventing you from earning big money on music or from creating great songs. The secret is not on having the perfect device, it's on your musician abilities.

I think I made much more music when I had less options in my hands. Now typically I spend much more time tweaking or trying any feature I can think of from my devices than writing music, as if it was a sandbox videogame with so many side quests. I definitely have to change that xD
Sometimes it’s a chore to not like the toys get in the way. It’s even worse with mixing and plugins. I really try to only buy stuff that serves a purpose.

Not a fan of the brisket burst?

NGL....I played that finish of his sig in one of Guitar Center's "Platinum" rooms, and I thought it was a phenomally-made and sounding instrument. I'm curious as to how much fit and finish they'll lose to make a Sterling version. I know Sterling non-locking term bridges tend to suck compared to their EBMM counterparts.
They are beautiful guitars but the are 4000usd
Brisket burst would have been a cool name

He just released the Sterling
Same body carve and neck shape
Same inlays and luminlay glow side markers
$899
Even if the bridge sucks I could throw in a hip shot fixed for $200

what an INSANE guitar for $900

curious to see if these are made in Indonesia like the Ibanez or china and what the body wood is

Oh, these are Indonesian-made all day, every day.

Love the charcoal burst, but I'm really curious as to how this is supposedly going for an everyday price of $899 when the regular Sterling Sabre is $1499. I know that one has Fishman Fluence, but that can't account for a $600 difference.....

Probably Indo. Nice guitar for the price. Reminds me of Schecter's Sunset Extreme. Another guitar with nice specs at a nice price.
