Mooer GS1000li profiler

I switched to FM9 after Kemper for 6 years and Tonex pedalboard for like, 1 month (lol). But looking for a super portable all-in-one unit for a backup. Interested to see how this works out.

I was eyeing the QC because I really like the form factor and amount of switches, but kinda expensive backup rig so if this Mooer pedal is really ~$550 ima keep an eye out.

I wonder if this can be used to profile pedals? That would be something cool for sure.

On Jon's video, it looked like pedals were a capturing option. The DRIVE looks like a pedal to me

Everyone was fine with Kemper being proprietary until NAM came along. Everything doesn’t need a NAM player.
That's because it was the only game in town with tons of profiles. Now every proprietary system just means that there's fewer captures per platform, and unfortunately that doesn't make them higher quality.

For example not having capture creation capability on my Hotone A2 Stomp means I need to rely on 3rd party captures, of which there are not that many compared to Tonex and NAM.

I'd rather have NAM support in these things so there's an established, large pool of captures for every taste.

The cheaper platforms also attract people with lower end gear, there's definitely less boutique captures for the Hotone.

They will sell these things well. You can't get what this does in that price range. I did see in one of the videos that the capturing seems to be a little picky. It doesn't give the greatest results and you may have to manually EQ things and adjust it to get it to sound more like your real amp. Even with that, what else is in this price range that gives you that ability?

What we really don’t need is an explosion in non-interoperable formats. But unfortunately it's already happening and getting worse with every new product release.

Many of us would also like to share non-commercial captures on a common website like Tonehunt. That’s the reason why we care about this.

Kemper, QC, Tonex, NAM, plus Mooer is 5 formats already, and of course there are others. Then there are all the different hosting locations for each of them.

Something something... VHS... Betamax yadda yadda.

Everything was a non-interoperable format prior to NAM. If NAM support is more important than the rest of the feature set your choices are fairly obvious.

That's the point.

It's the only open-source format that anybody can use, but also (fortunately) it's pretty good in comparison to the others; so it's not like you have to choose a lesser quality just to get the open-source aspect.

That’s cool, I’d rather see all of these manufacturers aiming for innovation rather than just throwing something in there because “it’s everywhere”.
