Local recording legend Will Maravelas of 14:59 Studios dabbles in YT vids and dropped this cool one yesterday. Thought it would be fun to see what the players here think:

Drop your guesses below!

My prediction on other people’s guessing- the clicker the kick drum is, the more they’ll assume the guitar tones are from a modeler.
Ha. I sort of assume the less ideal/polished the tone the likelier it is a tube amp. 🤣
I see a Kemper in the thumbnail. What modeler is he using in his comparison?
I think each band used whatever they use. So, likely a smattering of Fractal, Helix, Kemper, etc…

Ha. I sort of assume the less ideal/polished the tone the likelier it is a tube amp. 🤣

Even when I try and outsmart the system I fail these tests... recently there was a Mark V vs Mark IIC+ test on yt I watched. One sounded substantially better than the other to me so I was like "welp that must be the IIC+" nope... Mk V

As soon as:

1. I'm not playing it myself, in the same room
2. It's a recording
3. There is a mic or IR involved

I'm out.

Always have been. Pointless, IMO.
Mic’ing a cab to get tube tone, then running it with an IR… that’s some next level WTFery right there.

Hey dude!, Dino here,
can you relay a message to
one of your RigTalk brethren?

To: Chugg Norris:
We heard you lost your job recently,
You were fired from the Sperm Bank
for chugging on the job,

Thanks buddy!
