Line 6 POD Express

Hard pass… seems line 6 is churning out nickle and dime stuff to fill their coffers lately. Not impressed. Save your dough fellas if you have a fractal or helix or qc why bother? Cause it’s so easy to part with $200?

I can go buy a basic TS808 for *hopefully* $100. On the other hand, I can go buy this for $170 and have a digital version of a TS plus 6? Different amps, effects, etc.

There is a market for this type of stuff and Line 6 is smartly filling that gap imo.

Absolutely. I guess Mooer and NUX started this but Line6 have taken it to a whole new level. That being said, I'm probably going to resist every urge to grab this and see if an FM0 is announced in the next year or two. Until then, this device seems to be top of the heap in this segment of "pocket" modellers.

Do you really have to hold the Alt knob every time you want to adjust your amp settings? Why not make it a toggle button instead so you could basically set up your fx etc, then leave it on amp tweaking mode?

I just really dislike "hold this and turn this" functions.

Otherwise, I like everything I'm seeing here. Would definitely go for this over the Boss IR-2 if I wanted something like this.

Probably because there is no indicator of what you're editing, although I do agree that would be better.

Surprisingly well, as far as i've seen - minus the usual trolls, of course.

I mean, we're talking about a $180 Helix amp-in-a-box with effects, USB recording and headphones out. It must be really hard to ignore the appeal here.
Its super impressive, curious to know how many are being produced for initial launch? I expect these things will fly off the shelves everywhere

That sounds like a solvable problem since the main knob has those LEDs on them. Change the color to something not used by fx for example.

Double click to "lock to Alt mode" would be a neat feature. I don't know about y'all, but the thing I tend to tweak the most is usually the amp - for example if I use a different guitar I want to tweak the amp EQ a bit, but fx might stay as they are.

The reason I don't dig those "hold this button" things is that it's unreliable. If you hold it just a bit wrong it's easy to not activate it and then you mess up your fx settings. I run into this issue regularly enough on my Strymon Nightsky for example, which requires holding a tiny button between knobs down and turning the reverb knob to adjust e.g pre-delay.
