Line 6 POD Express

There are equivalent products in AA format now. Where there’s a will, there’s an Amazon search.

I'm aware of those. They need extra splitter cables (or multiple USB PSUs), so it's basically the same as with all rechargeable batteries.
Don't get me wrong, all these batteries are fine and dandy. But it'd still be a major plus for me if this thing was USB powered.

Didn't take long. No Marshall!!!! :hmm

Yo, don't Friedman me, Bro. :facepalm
NO MESA BOOGIE!!!!:cuss

Fwiw (you can save that as a feature request already, @Digital Igloo), it'd be great if you could call up 4 presets straight using the internal switches and 2 external ones. Or just 3 while using the fourth for tap/tune. Etc.

Unfortunately, no. We don't even have the ability to change mics, distance, or position—Just 7 factory Cab IRs. Simplicity and cost are key here.

Probably a very dumb question, but do we expect software support for the POD Express anytime soon? Not even asking about destkop editors and the likes, just wondering if the firmware is updateable, a-la-DL4 MKII.

So, for presets, you can save each ‘amp model’ to have your preferred effects settings etc
Kind of a default set up for each preset or amp you select? That would be perfect for me!

I agree. If it were up to me it would have an internal rechargeable battery. But I’ll bet there’s enough room in the AA cavity to strip some parts out and convert for 1x 9V with an exposed USB port.

This thing can’t possibly have USB audio at this price point… or does it? If so, so then yes USB bus power would be ideal. Otherwise, there are usually ways to fudge 9v over barrel jack or from USB 5V with a transformer.

BOSS IR-2 who?

Since the POD Express was in stock & the IR-2 is close to vaporware beyond the initial release, I got a POD Express arriving on Friday...Of course, this did stall my future HELIX Floor purchase.:grin:knit:grin

Have a good one,

The churn in this market is so fast these days. It’s got to be hell on a product manager’s nerves.

I’ve used in the past to power pedals. Works decently enough

4-channel USB audio at 24-bit / 48 kHZ, with DI, playback and reamp support!

Badass. (And we’re witnessing the death of the premium tier modeler and amps, when it ultimately becomes commonplace for pedal sized device to cost a couple hundred dollars while being capable of housing the history of guitar amps and effects. We’re not that far off, seeing how much improvement there has been recently in the small/budget line space  )

Wow ....... was blown away when I saw this.

My only *personal* thing is that I automatically assumed / hoped it included the L6 Original Amps as they are so f%cking good ..... but hey .... thats just me. People want to see the "name" brand models to make them buy it .... I get that.

Sound Design did the curation. The goal was to choose 7 amps that could cover the widest variety of sounds without breaking the DSP bank. If one's asking "where's the Marshall?" or "Where's the Mesa?" they're not the customer. In the end, you're not dialing in a Friedman with a Friedman in mind; you're dialing in a CRUNCH sound. (Otherwise, we would've silked "PLACATER" on the top panel.)

We only put the amp list in the manual so someone wouldn't spin cycles trying to figure out which models we used.
I actually think that the amp and effect selection is “the greatest HX Line 6 Hits” Ordered one.
