Line 6 Helix Stadium

@Digital Igloo other than the two 10 stomp pages - and of course showcase - does Stadium have other new quality of life features you can talk about (ready or planned)?
Yes, a lot, but even if I were to try listing them from memory, the majority will be discovered by people after XL's officially available.

See? Now you got me bummed about all the additional QOL improvements that won't make it into 1.1. They'll show up eventually.

Let’s (and by us I mean y’all) just focus on making it available ASAP.

We (y’all) should target 8 weeks from now.

Excited Lets Go GIF

I never realized the XL is extruded aluminum, but it makes sense given how the finish looks a lot like a OG Helix Floor. Damn it, it is tempting...

Then again, i'm in love with the footprint of the regular HXS. 3.4kg is amazingly light; about the weight of two HX Stomp XLs.

Is there anything else in the planned Stadium portfolio that is going to have scribble scripts? I'm thinking not.

The XL is nice and fairly compact...but the floor is so much lighter....I dunno. Tough decision.

Yeah, if anything, this is just giving me a bit of indecision over which one I want. I'm fine waiting until Dec/Jan for the Floor if need be.

But the pedal, strips and extra input ....thinking I'll need each of those at some point.

I went for the XL, because of the additional loops, and also having the expression pedal will mean I don't necessarily need my Lehle for volume control. But I can't lie, the non-XL is very nice in terms of floor real estate.

@Digital Igloo - Remember years ago when you said something to the effect of "loop switchers don't sell, I designed a balls deep amazing one, but it isn't cost effective to build"

... maybe as an outboard box for Stadium???

One of the things I'm curious about is, long-term.... what kind of switching modes and footswitch mappings will we see added to Stadium, and what else is going to be added to help people who want to play a whole live show without having to navigate around too many presets.

Towards the end of TNBD, I had about 7 presets on my Helix, 6 for specific songs, and the 7th was a sort of catch all "I can get through any song in our catalogue with this one" type of approach.

For Sloganyear and Summerisle in the future, I'm hoping to just do everything within one preset. Fantasheeeee?

I was going to wait for the Stadium Stomp, but now I think since I’m building a monster FM9 board, perhaps the standard Stadium with backpack as a Purse Rig would be cool.

This is probably more than you asked for, but...
  • FS6 (MODE) can be set to toggle between any two modes you want
  • FS6 (MODE) now shows you the mode you'll exit out to when leaving a mode not assigned to FS6
  • Hold FS6 for More Mode—lets you access 4 additional modes without having to remember the shortcuts: Stomp B, Snapshot, Combi, or Transport
  • From More mode, press-hold Stomp B, Snapshot, Combi, or Transport to swap it out for the current/queued FS6 Mode
  • More mode also lets you open/close Info view, start/stop preset clips, start/stop the click, start/stop/reset the stopwatch, quicksave the preset, and quickly mute all outputs
  • Combo mode (different modes on the top and bottom rows, plus Bank/Preset/Snapshot/Song/Marker Up and Down) is now separate from Preset mode
  • Effects are now automatically assigned to stomps (like POD Go), but you can turn this off
  • Individual Stomp switches now support up to 16 assignments (vs. 8 in Helix/HX)
  • If you forget the shortcut, assigning a stomp can also be accomplished from the block's Action panel, or for stompshots, learning from the parameter's panel
  • Stompshot (or other controller) assignment now takes 2 seconds instead of 3. Press-hold the parameter knob, press the stomp switch, done
  • Stompshots now work independently from snapshots. A parameter can be assigned to a local controller (stomp, expression pedal, X/Y controller axis, trigger, etc.), a snapshot, and (not or) MIDI CC or note independently
  • Command Center command parameters have individual snapshot control, just like Home screen block parameters
  • Tap-holding a stomp opens the quick assign dialog, letting you rename/recolor the stomp and select latching/momentary operation, but you can now also quickly clear the stomp
  • As with Snapshot switches in Helix/HX, Preset mode switches can now be user-colored
  • All Capacitive touch can now be disabled for you gross dudes who insist on playing barefoot
Many more footswitch/control enhancements are planned for later.

Sounds interesting, but not sure I will understand the benefits of most of this until I see a demo.

is it possible now or in the near future to program a few foot switches to toggle on tap between different snapshots, say 1 and 2, and program hold to go directly to snap 2? While all other foot switches are used for turning individual effects on/off?

If anyone here's going to the Guitar Summit in Mannheim later this month, we'll be digging into more details. I think people might get to play Agoura there as well; not sure yet.

Both Paul and I are going.

Uhm, I so wished being able to say hi and even just touch the Stadium's onboard editing, but I've got gigs on both Friday (still tbc but rather likely) and Saturday, the latter even being more north, so I'll be back almost in the morning, hence it wouldn't make any sense to go on Sunday.
