I have high hopes for this AZ2402. I sold my RG652AHM because I can't deal with the Wizard necks anymore. I can't believe I bought another guitar..:wat
The neck on the AZ's are very "un-Ibanez like". Night and day difference between an AZ and a Wizard of any ilk.

I really really really didn't need mine anymore, but I wish I still had it. Such a nice playing guitar.

Yeah totally different neck. It's like a deeper U shape where the Wizard and Charvel necks are skinny D shapes. Pretty comfy although I prefer more of a C shape. I guess I just prefer a thicker C over a skinny D :pickle

Is that the MIJ version?

Yes, It's a Prestige. I believe the color is available thru Sweetwater only, Seafoam Blue Flat

What might those "issues" be? :idk

I bought an AZ Prestige a couple of years ago and ended up sending it back.
Probably a total outlier and not the norm, but it was a serious letdown for me.

It's largely a good guitar. But it seems a little dead to me. I've restrung it, did a complete setup. Lifted, lowered the pickups. It's weird. The high E string just loses punch or cuts out the further above the 12th fret... It is NOT fretting out

Tapping on the high E is out of the question no matter how high I raise the bridge. It's weird. I've been at this for 50+ yrs and not sure I've ever encountered this. I keep A/B/C ing it against these two and it keeps coming up way short.. I know I've become picky in my old age (birthday yesterday) but I told my sweetwater rep point blank, I'm very much looking forward to this instrument but, I still own 28 other fine guitars so if it doesn't blow me away, it's coming back and thus far, I've been underwhelmed..

Perhaps a change of pickups would help but that's not a given so it's probably best I send it back quickly so maybe someone else can enjoy this instrument.
