I'm Just Curious..., How Many Here Own a Fractal, and Who Doesn't?

Which one(s) do you own?

As the man formerly known as Watt McCo, I am fully aware! But I do think the “seasoned” gear Wh*res that have settled into comfort in checking the forums a few times a week rather than a few times a minute at this stage in their lives are in a different league. At this moment. :beer :beer
Lol, I'm feeling saucy this morning.

You're probably right. I did some SERIOUS whoring, in the early to mid 2000's, mostly tube amps, but I settled down after that. I mostly lurk/read, and as you can see, inject a funny meme these days.

There should be a “Still on the pot” choice in the poll.

What you do feel is contributing to your consistently choosing the QC over the last 3 weeks? Or is there no simple answer that?
amp sound!! i feel the QC feel more like a real amp than fractal, sometimes when im playing the axe 3 i get boring so i switch to Kemper or QC. i enjoy more playing with those 2 devices, fractal is a killer device, but i think im more into the profiling

Appreciate the Mea Culpa. But tell me...

ARE WE CLOSE?

FM9T Black Friday Special price, yes?
ok here is where i am at. I think that in 2024 fractal will be releasing an fm9tmk2 . I am waiting to see that. $100 off doesnt matter much to me as if i go all in i dont want to and in 6 months a new fractal will be out. Because what i have now works great for my needs i am in no hurry and even if line6 drops a new heix replacement I am not interested. I was thinking ampx but thomas is too finicky and anal plus he wants to charge for extra models and effects ontop of the $2k. pass...Headrush? no thanx I had the mx5 and sold it. QC? no thanks as i hate how that company is run. Kemper? Not into profiling..i mean i guess i could be but for some reason i just never wanted to go that direction.
There thats it. From all my research I am going fractal in the end. The ampero/moeer/nux stuff???? nah would rather take that 5-750 and put into a trusted platform..TMP...? Hard pass as i see what fender does with modeling promises and at 1700.00 you would have to be daft to get it over the fm9t. Slick gui and convolution rvb are shiney new things on the surface but the screen real estate is wasted to me and by the time they add enough effects and models to be worthy it will be 2025.

A good friend of mine was an early adopter and had one of the first units in my neck of the woods.
I went there to check it out. I played a few notes, and trying to edit the patch I inadvertedly removed a virtual cable between two FX blocks, muting the unit. No chance to undo this without thoroughly reading the manual or rebooting. :facepalm :banana
I am soo not made for this kinda stuff and I'm not even that old... :sofa

The thing is, I just don't think a revision of the FM9 is going to happen anytime soon. But even if a revision was released, the existing version would still be excellent for years to come. Resale value is also good, should you wish to trade up at a later date, because you bought the existing FM9 today.

But if that's what you genuinely believe and that FM9 Mark II is what you're holding out for; then I don't think there's anything else I can tell you that will change your mind today other than what I've already said above. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I kind of agree but only want to buy one modeler for the next 5-8 yrs to use so want to jump in at the next fm9/10 thing.
I did buy this though to use with my ir loader.

I wouldn’t worry about the current longevity. For now just get something that holds its value fairly well, and unload it in the fall of ‘24.
