MS3 was a great idea, and it still is very good. It was my first venture into digital. My first ”ampless” setup was a MS-3 and a Vox MV Clean and some pedals on a board and a 1x12 cab. Worked great. The Line 6 take on a Boss MS-3 would be cool. And the HX Stomp or Stomp XL doesn't quite cover it.
I wish there was a GT1000 era ms3 equivalent that was actually viable for routing and as an ir player.MS3 was a great idea, and it still is very good. It was my first venture into digital. Agreed.I wish there was a GT1000 era ms3 equivalent that was actually viable for routing and as an ir player.
The cool thing, which is guess is a boss thing, that’s not available in Helix HXFX is the parameter auto thingy which gave you basically auto wahs and auto filters and so on. It was cool to have.Isn't that the HXFX? And isn't it better? (in some ways, not so in others)
Scandinavian design. So clean!Agreed.
And here’s the ms-3 board I had… damn I kinda miss this board now when I see it. The rat and timmy worked great with the Vox thingamabob.

Sorry for derailing thread haha!
On one hand I think it'd be fun, on the other hand I don't know how long we could discuss the same topic before it gets old.I really think we should make this show. Debating whether to pay the 500 for this year's Restream.io, if we did this show it would probably be worth it
How long have you been posting on guitar forums?!On one hand I think it'd be fun, on the other hand I don't know how long we could discuss the same topic before it gets old.
Agreed.

I've definitely built the death starI think I'm going to buy a board, JUST to build and rebuild it. Not to use it, just build it to look like this one, as a hobby.

Oh, it's been fully designed for years, and IMNSHO it's the best standalone pedal switcher that no one will ever see, because the run rates just aren't high enough. It'd also cost quite a bit more than you expect.I could see Line 6 developing a standalone pedal switcher based on their tech for Command Center, snapshots, scribble strips, etc.
Not with a digitally-controlled analog matrix.So. Much. Latency.
This makes Drew saaaaaaadddddd.Oh, it's been fully designed for years, and IMNSHO it's the best standalone pedal switcher that no one will ever see, because the run rates just aren't high enough. It'd also cost quite a bit more than you expect.

There's always a chance. If big, expensive pedalboard switchers become a standard, we may be forced to revisit. In the meantime, we have other ideas that might just bridge the gap. This makes Drew saaaaaaadddddd.
Badonk with the new cab engine is sounding REALLY good on my XL.
I think I'm going to take the plunge and update the big boy (Floor) right now. Wish me luck!
