Have You Bought Any Pedals Lately In 2025?

I bought a new Mk2 and a pre loved Mk1 .
I only wanted a Mk2 and already have a brilliant Mk1 but for £14 I had to grab it.👍
Both arrived earlier .

As a pre-birthday gift to myself, I picked up a Peterson StroboPlus HDC Tuner - not exactly a pedal tuner. More like a desktop/workshop tuner.

Also grabbed Walrus Audio's new Xero (Stereo) Polylooper pedal, which is incredible (_EDIT - and was delivered, today, the 8th :-)).

This one seems to have a learning curve, but so many possibilities!

The tuner is heavy, but not as heavy as the StroboStomp HD. It has a built-in lithium ion battery, which supports charging with the included USB C cable, the same sweetened tunings as the StroboStomp, color-adjustable display, metronome, etc., etc.

I wanted to see if I like the display on this tuner is any better than the StroboStomp HD, or if the tracking was any quicker, but haven't really done the acid test comparison between the two, just yet.

So far, the Turbo Tuners are my favorites.

I can never seem to get a decent picture of the display on any of my tuners :-(.

The Plus HDC has a little kickstand (LOL) so you can stand it up on a tabletop or something. It also has a built-in microphone, and you can use a wired clip adapter (not included) for other acoustic instrument tuning (without the microphone (like a violin, etc.). Not sure if I'd put that to use, but one never knows.

I’ve just seen the WA Looper on Andy’s The Week In Gear video .
He just covered what it does a full deep dive video coming.
For me it seems overly complicated with features.😳

I can tell Im going to have to invest some time to wrap my head around how to effectively use all the features.

How are things working out with the Carcosa?
So far so good! I'm loving the mid gain, crunchier tones a lot. Nice balance of bite and compression. I need to put more time into it with other amps but I can already tell it was money well spent.
