Have You Bought Any Amp Heads / Combos & Cabs In 2025?

I added a Crab Marcus head back in August and just took delivery of a EVH 5150III 4x12 cab today.

I have to give props to the recent thread by @CorrosiveMatter where Musician’s Friend’s blem cabs were mentioned.

I think the cab is realistically the last purchase for the year.

Let’s see (this might have been in December), got a Mesa MkV25 combo, Kemper active Kone Kab, Krampe head (that went back and DHL lost and is trying to find it since June), Fryette GODI-IR, Soldano x88IR
I’m not a fan of DHL .
There drivers love delivering my stuff to wrong addresses over the years.😡

Man this setup is a little tone station! The PRS HDRX 20 and modded Friedman PT-20 through a pair of great sounding 1x12 cabs and a Boss WAZA TAE Core. Plexi crank and jangle to modded Marshall JCM 800 and beyond. All in a little compact rig that can be DI'd to FOH or jacked up to bigger power amps and cabs if needed. Now I just need a roadie... 😀🎸

4 new matched valves / tubes and it’s now sounding great 👌
Difference makers!

All my amps except the new Mark VII have NOS tubes/valves. They've made keepers out of amps in earlier times I'd have just gone through and traded in or sold to get to the next shiny object.

It's not the kind of difference that makes you immediately jump up and say, "Wow, what a huge difference!" But I find that over the long haul they make the amps more satisfying, and turn 'em into keepers. A nebulous concept, I know, but for me it's true.

The amps here are 11, 11, 10, and 6 years old, with only one new one. Probably helps that they don't sound like they're ringing like telephones on the high end like so many modern tubes.

Getting the Mark few weeks ago emptied the gear fund. I have a few unused NOS I can install, but it's more convenient to install the full set at one go. So I'm being as patient as a gear lunatic can be.

"What does the NOS thing have to do with the post you quoted?"

"Wait, I'm supposed to stay on topic? Never mind!"

I have bought and returned so many things, I can't keep track :facepalm:rofl
This was my original post in this thread, back in June, on page 2. I DID end up settling on a rig that has been here for a while, and I'm past the return periods :rofl

Seriously, this rig going anywhere, as nothing sounds any better than this, and definitely doesn't get any smaller than this. At the end of July, I bought (my 2nd, lol), Bluguitar Amp 1 Mercury Edition, and in the middle of August, I bought a Bluguitar Fatcab 1x12 to pair with it. I have used it with my H&K 2x12 at times as well.

Earlier in the year, I had bought a CIOKS Sol, for the many other rig ideas that I had, that didn't pan out, so, the rig is this:

Amp 1 in 4cm with the HX Stomp XL, exp pedal, and Shure GLXD16+, on a Mono Small board, right into either cab.

The Stomp provides Poly Capo, Wah, Volume Pedal, Timmy for boost, chorus, delay, reverb, and midi switching for the Amp 1.
