Saw the price drop, and pulled the trigger on a Marshall Origin 20 head.

Has the 2 x EL34 power section ,and an FX Loop. Haven't played one before. Gonna use
it as the Dry option for the in home W/D/W setup. Also, as the Power Amp into a 2 x 12
for the FM3 with the band.

over here a used 6505 and DSL together would go for less than a 2203 or JVM and you’d still get some change.

I’d only really go for a Block Letter if you want to collect/own a cool piece of history, and similarly for the JVM HJS (probably too rare to take on the road and the features and flexibility are where it shines most IMO). Both command a bit of a premium that I think is only really justified if you have some emotional connection to those amps

I didn't buy an Origin to replace the Ecstasy I didn't get yet, though. Totally different
scenario and thought process.

I described exactly why I took a flyer on an Origin above. Needed a center dry amp STAT!

Yup. Here a DSL and 6505 would set me back $1500 tops. That's a lot of amp for that amount of change.

Still would like an Ecstasy, but prefer a Marshall style circuit to have EL34s and the 20th I was referencing in
this thread was a 6L6. A 101B is probably more my style/feel anyways, and I can be patient waiting for
one to pop up somewhere.

I am certainly not paying a premium for one. Lived this long without one, a few more months or however
long it takes won't kill me. Or will it?

Fuck me! The 20th is back up for sale again. It was off and the listing was removed
for the 2nd time, only to reappear.
