Haha! Love it, FA!
I have yet to find a "No!" anywhere inside of me.

Yep, I did own one. Ultimately it was just a bit too similar to the XTC 101B I have so I couldn't justify keeping both at the price, and I was already used to the 101B because I'd had it for quite a bit longer, but I'd recommend an XTC 20th to anybody.
The key difference between the 101B and the XTC 20th is that the XTC 20th is a slightly stiffer and more modern amp. This makes the 20th's Red channel a bit clearer and more expressive, overall a bit better than the 101B's Red channel (personally I think the XTC 20th's Red channel might be the best pure, smooth mid/high gain tone for leads ever made), but the 101B's Blue channel benefits from the 101B being slightly more vintage and squishy, so I think the Blue channel is just a hair better on the 101B. The 20th's Blue channel has very slightly less gain and is maybe "too clear" in the highs for me, but that honestly might be able to be resolved with more tweaking than I ended up doing.
Either way, incredible amp overall.
edit: oh and the XTC 20th has one of the sweetest, best sounding clean channels I've ever heard in a channel switcher. Like "end your quest for warm clean tones" good.
Thanks! Your descriptions have me wanting a 101B.
Right up my alley and the last amp to rule them all. I just stumbled into this
and the seller is willing to work with me and shot me a mad price that makes
me feel like this is the time to jump.
I'd prefer EL34s, too. 6L6s and Marshall-esque circuits just never felt right to my
ears.
I have some tubes here, so that is no biggie and I can swap back and forth. You
try your 20th with EL34s when you had it?
Thanks again, appreciate you taking the time to give me that breakdown.
Very welcome!
The one I had used 6L6 tubes. I never tried it with EL34's.
Did you get it
Any thoughts on the too loud factor @Life Eats Life mentioned?
I have a Mark V and another 3 channel monster I have no issues with,
but never tried an XTC. Aren't they switchable down to 25 watts?
Brother, keep your eyes peeled for theSo the guy pulls his ad. The amp is sold. Weeks pass. He contacts me privately, and
tells me buyer bailed and it is back on the market.
I am like, "In the meantime, I have bought a new guitar, a few pedals, and some
new software."
I'd still like an XTC, but maybe this is not the one. Or maybe it is.
There was a Pandora in the Bogner FB group black carbon fiber and metal front I think it was around 4000Brother, keep your eyes peeled for the
XTC Pandora on the used market.
if you get one, get that one.
You might be able to get a used Pandora for the same price of a used 20th in the current used gear climate.
Those Pandora’s are dope AF.
Good job not blowing your load
This is either "the universe is giving you another chance" or "the universe is saying you should pass on it".So the guy pulls his ad. The amp is sold. Weeks pass. He contacts me privately, and

My last guitar purchase was the KDC relic Tele, and that actually ended up being sold to someone else, then he chose to sell it a few weeks later. That was my cue for "universe giving me another chance" and it worked out well. But of course an XTC is pretty expensive to roll the dice...
