Rock n Roll 2024: The knob highlight color scheme doesn’t match my desktop background

I do sensitive guitar paintings.

The fender style tonestack mesa amps use wastes the entire signal to ground (= silence) if all the tone knobs are zeroed.

IR-2 does this on twin tweed and crunch modes

Don’t know how difficult it is but maybe just give users a choice of colour
Orange , blue , green Red , none
Then they can do whatever

Interestingly, Hotone does this for their onboard UI. You can pick from about 6 or 7 different colors and it changes basically what color the sliders and various UI highlight elements use. It's a nice way to make my "limited edition red" A2 Stomp have red UI as well instead of the default "gold" used for the regular white model. The computer editor uses a "block color = knob color" system instead.

For Fractal, I think it would be better if FM3-/FM9-/Axe-Edit used the yellow/orange because it matches every other element better. By comparison the VP4 already uses cyan in other elements, so that color is a better fit for that editor. I think Fractal just copy-pasted the VP4 stuff as is and did nothing else.

I think that’s a cool idea that Hotone does because some people might be sensitive to certain Colors
I am not a dev but I don’t imagine it would too difficult
The cabs and presets have different Color and the Foot switches can be Color coded as well
Plus if it annoyed you select None

I will for the record say I like the cyan blue round the knobs I think it is an improvement
When I make suggestions it’s just that to play devils advocate
But it’s not that I dislike the change

I won’t do the update until the full VR comes out, but I like the updated look from the screenshot just because it’s easier to see at a quick glance where all the knobs are.

FM9 drives into the Electra Dyne sound great! I just used the ED as a clean platform, straight in, no effects loop stuff. Obviously did a bunch of Gilmour stuff and it’s great to hear it translate to an actual amp just fine. What I was particularly stoked about was the the realization that I should set up a ‘grab and go’ preset where I can plug the FM9 into the front of any amp and have all my general tones ready to go.

I think after running it into a few different power sections and hearing how much color they have over it, I’d rather just use whatever amp is kicking around straight into the input, using drives for all the dirt.

I still need to get a killer high gain tone going on, but so far I’m stacking the Timmons drive into the Suhr Riot LED and it’s almost satisfying the itch.

Wow gas coming out of my ass. One of my favorite models in the fractal are the ac20 bass versions. Welp lo and behold there’s an ac20 at guitar center that I got to try out today. This thing smokes. One of the best clean/eob amps I’ve ever got to play. This amp is going to haunt me.

I haven’t done this in my fm9 yet, but in my helix floor I kept a patch that was like my main one but meant for putting it in front of a random amp.

I found a drive pedal that could be an always on base tone (like my amp essentially) and then through an eq in after that. I set that drive pedal for the amount of drive and compression I wanted. When I needed to run it into an amp, I just used the amp knobs first if I could then the drive model or eq controls to get it dialed in.

Using that drive model as the base of my tone allowed me to get pretty reliable results regardless of what amp I plugged into because the drives and boosts in my preset were going into it the same regardless of the amp I was using.

Just some food for thought.
