Fractal Talk

Personal opinion below:
Now Axe Edit looks like the BOSS or POD Express editors, how to make your editor look cheap 101.
Bright monochrome colors = (n)

EDIT: the bright cyan color makes it quite harder to see the very light grey name of the knob below it, the extreme contrast hurts my eyes.
I understand Fractal is going for a consistent cyan theme between hardware and software, but that move is a step backwards both visually and functionally.
A light grey color like the knob name will be much easier on the eyes and retain the visual improvement.

A fix for the weird knob angle will be a true upgrade.
9:00 o'clock should be exactly 2.
3:00 o'clock should be exactly 8.
Yeah I got to agree the cyan is the wrong color choice here. That yellow/orange used for everything else would be much more cohesive and a bit easier on the eyes.

Something like this:

I don't like the new knob style either. That "modifier nipple" (99% of the time irrelevant info) and much smaller pointer line are not an improvement.

Agree. I find the setting arc highlight helpful and an improvement, especially in your suggested highlight colour; but the nipple and pointer are distracting visual noise.

Don’t know how difficult it is but maybe just give users a choice of colour
Orange , blue , green Red , none
Then they can do whatever

I was actually hoping I was wrong. Did you do anything advanced to the fractal model or just adjust basic controls? That top clip fuzz sounds alive.

D
I selected the same diodes I have in the pedal, tone switch off, wicker switch on and then slightly tweaked bias and eq...

Anyway, here's the full video with some more comparisons

This debate is great though; it's like arguing about the stitch pattern on the seats of a Ferrari. That means we're all driving Ferraris, and I like just to sit with that thought on its own for a moment.

I think the world is too damn colorless in too many ways. I would love to play through an Axe-FX III covered in fire engine red Tolex. As Joe writes, this is more Tron, but to me that's also exciting and inspiring.

To me the most fitting aesthetic for Fractal UI would really be the most skeumorphism possible, reflecting the most accurate gear modeling available.

@iaresee Looks to me like your rug has a significantly lower sample rate and resolution than your modeller.
Toan is in the rug.
Jesus H Christ on a basket, guys. At some point, you need to start asking yourselves how many footswitches is enough
It’s not like there’s signal degradation. Stack em up!

I sat down to update my FM9 an hour ago, updated it then got lost in noodle land before remembering the update. The FAS Hot Rod into a 2290 delay, super simple but that amp cleans up as well as it sings and it doesn’t matter what guitar I use, I don’t even need to touch the amp, it just sounds great.

I’m anxious to hear the new drives into a real cab. Tomorrow I’m going to put the FM9 in front of the Electra Dyne, I’m really anxious to hear them play with an amp.
