Fractal Talk

I think boot times have a certain subtle influence on the perception of the overall user experience. I doubt it would ultimately sway anyone from a great platform, but we’ve all had gear/tech where an excessive boot or shutdown time grates on our nerves.
Are the boot times actually something complained about? Neither the AxeIII or FM9 Turbo seem bad at all.

You can’t get into the car in January and gun the engine though

Yup. Sometimes in January, where I live, you can't even get into your car. :idk

I’ve been musing over some of the (sometimes very loosely) teased features/models and products under the Fractal banner. Have I missed any?

With the exception of CabLab 4, I wonder what from this list will eventually see the light of day. The LB1, for example, was spoken of in rather definitive terms, but that was almost 7 years ago.

Then there are other “what will happen?” items such as the FM3 USB-A port and the Amp Matching patent.
Despite not owning the unit anymore, I'd really like to see that FM3 USB-A port put to some use, even if it just allows powering something with it. It's stupid to have a non-functional port.

I don't know how popular the LB2 has been in the first place, just so much less talk about it overall. Fractal might consider it does not have a big enough market. Now with Dyna-cabs, it would be pretty dope to see a loadbox + Dyna-Cabs device though.

CabLab was supposed to get support for Fullres IRs but those have kinda become a less interesting feature due to lack of 3rd party support for it. Plus only the flagship Axe-Fx 3 can use them anyway.

1. I would LOVE the Prosonic be added. Always wanted to try one but never came across one IRL.
2. LB1 would be cool have expanded on. Not sure if it didn't quite catch on? FAS knows what they are doing so it should have been a contender imo?

I think it's just harder to buy than e.g Suhr, Fryette etc and Fractal isn't a household name for "amps and stuff" so maybe people associate it with something related to modeling?

So basically a slightly faster processor and bigger displays. Great for new buyers, not interesting enough for current owners to upgrade.

I guess this is a "make use of DSP chips with better availability and consolidate manufacturing to the newer FC6 chassis/displays" product.

10% more horsepower lets you cram in maybe 1 extra block of some not so demanding effect.

This seemed inevitable given what happened with the FM9 => FM9 Turbo and what necessitated it.

It's great that they kept the same price though! That's the real surprise for me.

Damn. I’ll say it now, I was dead wrong about this. I didn’t think it was going to happen at all.

Anxious to see the complaints come in later…..”They should have told us this were coming, I’m on the waitlist for the FM3 and have been plotting out my signal chains already, if I would have known before, I could have randomly guessed how many more blocks I could have put into a preset!”

And don’t forget about the complaints about how many different products and revisions FAS releases.
