Fractal Talk

Frac-Lords, is there anything I need to do at the Input or Output splits to make sure I’m getting the full signal (And full stereo at the Output) by setting up my IO like this. I’d never use more than one input or output at a time, but im trying to get one master preset depending on which source or destination I’m using.

I’ve got the return dimed to 100%, which means it should be no-cost to route to the full line below it.

Here you go, a quick sound test of some Ride the Lightning era Metallica with the Silverface Twin preset I made

This is all my black Strat -> sd-1 -> Twin -> 2x12 lead 80

Definitely not as bad as I thought 🤣

Seriously though this is what I think is so cool about component modeling, and especially Fractal.

There’s enough of that real DNA in there that you can do things like this the way people used to mod the real gear and it responds the way we expect it to. And it sounds like we expect!

It’s not just some algorithm to emulate the character people expect from a stereotypical Twin tone, it actually behaves like a real Twin

Can you use both Output 1 connection ports (XLR and TS) without it affecting the signal? I’d like to use the TS (humbuster) connection on Out1 for my LXII and then control it being used by leaving it powered off or on. But I also use the XLR connection on Out 1 for my monitors. I’m not sure if it somehow affects one or the other. I know some devices don’t rec having concurrent connections from the same Output.

Yes, that's fine to do.

Some people confuse incorrect testing procedures with inaccuracy. I.e., cranking the treble on your amp while playing in close proximity can cause a magnetic feedback loop between the output transformer and/or load-box choke and your guitar. This invariably causes high-frequency resonance, sometimes even ultrasonic. This will effect the tone and the feel.
