Fractal Talk

Anyone check on their FM3 friends today 🤣

Question for ya, was reading the release notes and was wondering what this means to end users - in layman's terms:

I'm a layman so couldn't tell ya 🤣

Same thing though if someone told me any of the values of these on a real amp. Wouldn't mean a thing to me but all contribute to the toanz

What I mean is, if you have a couple dozens custom made presets on your unit and then load this new update, is there any maintenance required on those presets?

The parameters will be updated upon recall.

I would expect many of presets to change audibly. The only maintenance I could see is a little tweaking if you aren’t happy with the sound of the update.

Also, from what I understand, the firmware writes the new settings to your preset every time you pull it up, unless you hit the "save" button.

The easiest thing to do is just go to Manage Presets in Axe-Edit, select all your presets and hit "Reset amp blocks" in the right click menu. This will reset all the advanced parameters but keep the basic EQ stuff. Expect to still re-dial your presets so it's best to leave the update until you have time to do it.

Pointless (mostly) because the firmware is already resetting the ones the were updated when the preset loads.

The only benefit is that this will save them... But not really required.

Additionally that method will reset other advanced parameters.

I see it as a "one and done" thing where I don't need to think about it again because they are now saved.
