Fractal Talk

I'd rather someone read the science, understood it, then looked into if they can do something different, even if it's contrary to the current knowledge.

Someone who deliberately ignores the science is just getting lucky if they manage to make something that debunks the existing science. It's just as stupid as the "you are limited by music theory and not knowing it lets you be more creative" argument I've seen sometimes.

Science is also about formulating theories, then testing them repeatedly in a controlled environment while observing the results. As such, science is in a state of perpetual evolution as technology improves and new knowledge is gained.

Remember, there was a time when it was accepted science that the earth was at the center of the universe, and the sun, moon, and stars all revolved around it…

Hey all !

I realise its dropping in the next couple of days, but I was wondering ..... is there an accurate-ish idea of what the CPU hit will be on the Gen 1 and Gen 2 FM3's once they get channel, scene and [hopefully] pre-set gapless switching (?)

Thanks,
Ben

My best guess is 3 percent 😬

Thanks ... was just curious ... we'll no doubt be inundated with patch-load-comparisons in the next day or two and I'd be pretty certain Cliff will be very clear and very specific about what the gapless cpu hit / impact will actually be.

My personal view would be if they can get full gapless [ channels, scenes and pre-sets ] into a Gen 1 FM3 with only say a ~%5 cpu hit ... that would be a massive optimization effort and achievement and applauded by all ... users or not ! :)

3 to 5 was the estimate from a post on the forum from a member I am pretty sure is a beta
People guaranteed will still complain , because if your at 79% your going to have to possibly look at altering your workflow and spreading out
your tones over several presets but I am sure with the gapless and likely spring reverb cpu hit ,there will be some unhappy as they are not wanting to change a workflow

Hope I am wrong because it’s is a very powerful addition
