Fractal Talk

Do you want to send out the special Kool-Aid flavor for Fractal fanbois, or did you want me to handle this one?
I've got it.

I don’t want to beat up on anyone willing to take a peak over the fence. If it were still the ad hominem stuff towards a good amount of our members I’d be singin’ a different tune, but maybe the dude will find out why there’s so many Fractal fanboys! That said, if the dude doesn’t dig it and reverts back to calling everyone fanboys, have at it.

I would wager that a majority of the people who bash on Fractal and its users have never even been in the same room as an Axe-FX.

I don't give a shit what anyone likes, as long as they're cool about it. But I found the comment dickish, over at SS.org. Though, given how much that site has gone downhill since Chris sold it, it's kinda par for the course.

Ah well. Perhaps he'll enjoy the Fractal.

Fear not, I’m aiming for a Dumble, not a Beamer. :rofl

I can [usually] tolerate to a point the over-sensitivities of some - but my not-inconsiderable sized guts - find it really hard to digest the sycophantic a$$ licking and totally over-the-top 2nd coming of Jesus declarations by posters ... still ... it is what it is ... there are still some great contributors and helpers on that forum that really know their stuff and know how to help and advise people .... and a few that just seem to bite-back and be at the end of their tether ... personally I always got nothing but great and excellent help .... but I regularly cringed at a lot of posts and a lot of the replies given .... I had one personal exception when I let things get the better of me and I pointed out some of the sycophancy and was immedialty piled on for a few days in any other posts I made by a tag-team of 3 "names there" who clearly felt their role in life was to be the defenders of the realm :)

While I know the answer, if I did attenuate or use with a load box, would it still be worth it? It's an amp I've always wanted but was not about to drop $3000.

I even think they may be overpriced even with the price drop but definitely more obtainable
You know what the best/worst phenomena is?

Using an amp modeller for years and always having gremlins in the back of your head that something isnt quite right and the real thing would be so much better. Then you get the real thing and match the settings... probably only need 10% tweaking to get them to really match each other. You sit there and listen to your glorious amp tone... to then switch to the modeller and go... its the same... its always been the same.... GD it :rofl

The 6505+ I picked up matched STL AmpHubs 6505+ insanely closely
The ENGL Fireball 60w I picked up matched STL AmpHubs Fireball insanely closely
You guessed it... the 5150iii 50w Ivory I have also matches pretty much every rendition of that in the modeller realm as well

The amps always have "a bit extra"... but its like 1-5%... Ergo, the sims are totally fine and practical unless you wanna be a baller and have bragging rights, your listeners wont know the difference anyway else.

On one hand there are those that are over-sensitive and over-protective, on the other hand there are a few whose level of entitlement is jaw-dropping.

E.g. see this post, personally I wouldn't accept such tones not even if he was my boss
