Thanks! You guys already try and regulate what is posted over on the FAS forum so I appreciate you letting us chat more freely over here. I'd hate to ask how people are liking the beta on a beta thread. I was told that wasn't allowed.

If you can't see how wild that firmware thread is compared to previous ones, not sure what to say

My post wasn't trying to tell anyone what to do...

I was trying to point out the irony of people complaining about threads being off topic while simultaneously being off topic in the thread they are posting in.

I think we are saying we want to hear is more about the beta
Tangents are fine for like a page or 2 but the reset thread should have been stopped IMO way , prior . I have seen in the past mods say let’s stay on topic . I think myself as a fractal user was surprised at how far that went

Yes, it was like an infinite loop... And not helped by the "thread skimmers" who managed to miss 15 pages on the topic and then ask (again) how to reset the Amp block

I don’t think anyone cares about how far off topic the thread over on the FAS forum is; I think it’s equal parts rant about idiots and discuss whether there might be something Fractal could do to avoid the confusion (which it seems they are). Given the general “never throw the baby out with the bath water, even if it seems like there is so much bath water the baby might be drowning” approach here, that all seems perfectly fine.

Yes... It's usually a sure sign that the beta doesn't have many/any issues when it's that far off the tracks.

I look at it like the stupid Reply All email storms we get at work from time to time... Don't reply!

Right, just doing some research, the current thread is at about 1200 comments. I searched back to February 2022 and the highest firmware thread was 600 with most averaging around 200

To be fair, the whole resetting topic is a bit complicated. When you have many very experienced users who aren't clear, that is obviously amplified by all the inexperienced users... And the previously mentioned skimmers recycle ad nauseam

Sure but we are over double the comments of the last highest firmware thread.

Again, im mostly sour because I was told I shouldn't be commenting asking about how people like the new firmware in a firmware thread.

So yes, I'm biased but I can't say it's not a common theme. This place is my source for FAS news anymore

Oh hey, you were the one who was telling people they shouldn't ask about the firmware without adding their own thoughts on it! One of them was even a beta tester lol

I mean, if someone doesn't have an axe fx 3 or doesn't like to try betas, they may be interested in any new changes. Unfortunately, that means it's impossible for them to give their thoughts on the beta.The firmware beta thread would be a good place to check that out. I mean, it makes sense, right?

You really don't know what your talking about. I never told anybody anything like that! I replied to your snarky comment about how you were hoping you could learn how people were liking the firmware, but couldn't.....all I said was that I didn't remember reading how you liked it.

You then accuse me of gatekeeping.......lol. Do you even know what that word means, or is that just something you heard that sounds cool?

In the recent past Cliff posted that it really depresses him to see how many people complain when he debuts a new feature. I think it is important that Cliff and the development team at FAS continue to be reminded that a lot of users are very appreciative of their efforts. It would be great if the firmware threads were solely used for getting clarification on new features and discussing possible bugs, but I'm fine with it if people want to express some gratitude as well.

Are you the only one who can use snark and talk in passive aggressive tone? If so, I must have missed that memo...lol

And since you keep bringing up the beta tester......yes, I should have noticed he was a beta tester and not said anything, but like I said, I was tired of hearing people complain about people, and, really, a beta tester should know better than to come in there complaining about that.

Does that about cover everything for you boss?
