Let’s say you want to put EL34 in a MKV or 5881 in a JCM800 , there are a lot of things that would change if you did that, bias etc etc
But in order to have that authentic behaviour Cliff said it would wreck people’s presets so yes it matters sometimes depending on the extent of the changes I think

The problem is that would only update parameters for presets currently loaded in the AxeFX. There are also presets loaded with import and the block library.

Instead, you could take those parameters away from the UI and the firmware would always use the new default values. There would be a tiny percentage of users that cares about adjusting those parameters, but you're proposing overriding their settings in presets anyway, so you might as well just take control over those parameters and make things easier for everybody, including yourself.

Supply Sag is an extremely useful user-editable parameter. Even other modelers make this available to users.

Yes, FracTool has had this for a time now. Al just updated FracTool to work with the latest firmware, so that's great. Before that update, it would have been unreliable to use it for this purpose.

However, I'm beginning to feel like this feature is table stakes and should be in the official editors. I don't want to rely on Al's generosity and time to be able to access this.

Did I dream about it or was it actually a feature in Axe FX II and AX8 editors? I seems to recall there was a way to export an xls file with parameters values

EDIT: yep, it did that by clicking on the Export button while pressing CTRL+ALT+SHIFT.

I stumbled upon a post by GotMetalBoy on 8/8/2014 in which he stated he was able to save a preset as a csv file by pressing Cntrl+Shift+Alt+Export button in Axe Edit. So I tried it and to my dismay pressing those keys would only save my preset as a syx file. Does anybody here know of any...

Cliff doesn't give a shit about your presets. He's obsessed with improving his product. That's a paradigm that I've been on board with since 2007. The people unhappy with that might need to reassess their options.
Plenty of devices available that pretty much sound the same as they did 5 years ago. Cliff has done a major modelling engine update 3 times since then. Seriously, update, don't update. Sell the fucking thing if you're unhappy. But most of us have been around long enough to know the deal.

I have my favorite preset with JS410 and my favorite IR. Every time I try a new amp, or a new IR, or DynaCab, I have my first moment of joy with the new flavor, but after a while I tweak it like a mad-man trying to make it sound like my original preset. Go figure how strange we are!
