I love both the 5150 II Lead and the 5150 III Stealth Blue. It's hard for me to choose which I like better.

I think, rather than whatever might slow the loading of amps in the hardware, it would be great instead to have both manufacturer and gain groupings available in Axe-Edit only.

I have memorized the amps since I got an Axe-FX III, but still I find it useful to glance over the entire list. The ability to organize the list in different ways would be helpful. Maybe the ability to create our own categories then organize that way would be the most helpful. Shit, thinking about it that way, I ought to to create a spreadsheet to do just that. Maybe I ought to create an open sheet that anyone can or at least copy and alter. Man, that would be cool if I had the time.

You can already sort of do that; there's this older thread that I followed to color-code amps by gain.....

But I completely agree -- anything that makes amps more accessible is helpful, whether that's consistent naming, ability to sort / group in different ways, etc. And I'm okay if the editor diverges a bit from the hardware; I definitely use it more for editing / creating / exploring tones....

Yeah, true, you can choose one method of organization that way, and represent it by color. Thanks for the link to that thread. I was just thinking along the lines of what has been mentioned by others in this thread that changing the method of organization on the fly would be the best way.

And I'd have three types:

Gain level

Brand: I'd go by brand name itself and ignore conglomerates, meaning I'd separate EVH from Fender. And of course you'd have many brands that are only represented once, like Diamond.

Flavor:
Plexi
Modded Plexi (Hook, Friedman, etc)
SLO (5150, Archon, etc)
etc

Day 3 in the house, and Drew still thinks grouping by manufacturer is pointless.

That’s inaccurate, bitch! :rofl

I have mine grouped by manufacturer because I think they should be, I just utilize a different way of doing it than what was being discussed.

I think he meant himself :ROFLMAO:

I avoided replying something along the lines of "George being another c word Orv would use" vid links. FWIW; I would put the EVH 5150IIIs with the PV5150s. Mainly because they were the originals? Which probably isn't helping this conversation :rofl

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I actually forgot his name was also Drew for a minute. :rofl
