Okay, here it is - NAD!

Its so beautiful. Must sound good too.

What do the tone and the cut knobs do? Assuming they are about highs, and are interactive.

The tone knob is a 6 position selector that changes the bright cap value on channel 2. It changes the highs and upper mids - basically brighter one direction and darker the other.

The cut knob is like the cut control on a Vox. It rolls off high end presence.

Great story and congrats on the amp, but I was smitten with the Les Paul.........:chef

Me too :love

Two weeks in. Still in love.

It’s just so easy to get what I want out of it with just a few pedals. I learned some lessons and haven’t had any issues with EQ or volume this time around. It loves every pedal I throw at it.

The Nobels into this is :chef . I’ve been practicing music for everything from country to old rock & roll, and even ‘80s glam metal with just it and a GE-7 and it just works.

After spending more time with it I have to say it’s not as Fender-y as I first thought. The 6v6 channel does have some of that brownface thing going on, but it’s different. I read something Fred said about it being a favorite American amp from the ‘50s and recalled the Gibson GA amps used a 5879 preamp and that kind of clicks for me.

My new theory is wondering if it is somewhat based on the old Gibson GA amps. The tube layout is very similar to the GA-40 with 5879 preamp, a 12ax7 pi and 6v6 power
