Saw it last night in IMAX. Anyone else go see it?

I liked the focus on the early days and each member’s background and how they all came together as the reformed Yardbirds and then Zeppelin.

Never knew Robert had some early bands and success. But then was practically homeless and estranged from his family.

The Bonzo lost interview was the cherry on top I think. You could tell how heartfelt it was as the remaining guys listened to his audio on camera.

And probably the most anyone has seen John Paul Jones talk on camera haha.

I walked away really pleased with the film.

Saw this last night. Definitely liked it, although it was very sterilized. But was really cool to see the production efforts that went into the first few albums.

I had a great time watching it, really enjoyed it. Helped put those first two albums and everything that came before them into perspective. Loved the focus on the early days.

We walked out of the cinema with smiles on our faces which, I think, is a very positive indicator.
As a Londoner, the very early Roundhouse scenes made me chuckle - it’s soooo different now.

Wife and I saw it last night.

If you're at all curious about it, you'll enjoy it. It's heavily focused on the music, and built around full-length "performances" of say six or seven songs. Just enough narrative to tie it together, but no real depth to it. From the interviews you do get a sense for their personalities, but it's not like they provide a lot of detail on how Page went from skiffle to session to, well, that guy.

That performance in Denmark when they were still the Yardbirds was probably my favorite; I hadn't heard that song before.

Oh, and that audience reaction....when they played one of their first gigs after their first album....people are literally plugging their ears and shaking their heads. Had me wishing I had a remote so I could rewind that part to scan the audience....

What Page said at the end really resonated with me.

As we discussed the movie afterwards, i was reminded by just how transparent bass is to most people. My wife said she didn't hear any bass in the whole movie, whereas I had thoroughly enjoyed the previous 2 hours and being reminded just how good John Paul Jones was....

Saw this at our local IMAX last week, really dug it! A few things I came away with:

I knew Page and Jones were session guys but never realized how much they worked together, or how iconic some of those tracks were. MF'ing GOLDFINGER???!!!

Was really cool to see the vision Page had for this band from the get-go, and how much he absorbed while being a session guy that fed into the greatness that would be LZ.

They may not be "friends" these days, couldn't even get them all in the same room for any of the interviews, but you could see the overwhelming respect these guys have for each other.
