HOLY FUDGE!!!
The pain in my fingertips these past few days has been intense. When I first started messing around last week there was pretty much no hope of bending anything up to pitch cause of noodle fingers. The muscle strength came back pretty quickly so now it's just string pain on the tips cause I lost the padding.
Just bent the 3rd fret D on the B string up to a full E and thought the tip of my finger was going to shear off.

...are you not using your other fingers to basically create a "wad of fingers" as I think Billy Gibbons put it? Essentially to use your index and middle finger to assist the ring finger to bend, for instance.HOLY FUDGE!!!

I started out this morning intent on playing every one of my instruments in an effort to whittle things down to my top 10 and reluctantly prep the others for sale. When I opened the case I knew I should just move on but I didn't. I'm probably older than most here and I've searched for MY Les Paul for far too many yrs.. Been thru so so many. It's a damn shame it took so long but thus is life. So what ensued was a continuation of my lovefest with this Lester for hrs..... I'll try to pick up where I left off tomorrow morning..

I realized I hadn’t played my 7-string into the EVH yet, so I jumped on it last night and confirmed I absolutely hate the EMG 707 in it. Funnily enough, the EMG81 in my Edwards sounds pretty great with the same settings.
Not sure when I stopped playing, but I have a faint memory of making chicken parm for dinner, which was confirmed when I woke up at 1:30 this morning with the chick parm sitting 6” from my head with maybe 3 bites taken out of it, my rig still on and my TV blaring. Fire alarm week kicks my ass every time.

Walked past my olive drab Epi Casino on a stand in the basement, and it was so out of tune that I had to bring upstairs to tune it (if I know it's out of tune it nags on me if I don't tune it). Plugged it into a Tonex pedal on Plexi and 800 models into the power amp in of a Catalyst and lost the entire evening jamming along with Spotify.
Other than that I've been playing a Charvel tele-style 7-string hardtail with Duncans for the last week. Decided to restring it and set it up with Slinkies and try to figure out WTF to do with 7 strings lol. Jammed along with Sabbath's Heaven and Hell and a few other 80's hard rock and metal tunes. Mrs stonge enjoyed the trip down memory lane from the safety of a few rooms away lol.

Potentiometer as in Lynch Tiger push pull. I got a 90's Screamin Demon to replace the Duncan Custom that was in there.
The 30 yr old pot bit the dust in the process. Lucky i have a Kami to copy wiring off of.
Then my Mogani cable of 15 years develops a short while testing the new switch.
Then the shaft diameter on the new pot was larger than the stock hole.
Used 5 different bits [carefully] going larger each time. Maxed out the biggest one i had and that one worked.
Mojotone hooked me up with a decent pot. This one pops up when depressed instead of have to grab and pull up.
Its in there now but hope i dont have to do that again.

Day 2 of using my Vibrolux Reverb as a pedal platform. Disconnected the combo cab, ran the amp to my 1960A with Greenbacks and fired off dirt pedal after dirt pedal. Amp volume on 5 on the normal channel. Loud but not painful. Bass at 4 treble at 5.5. Favorite combo? EQD Hizumitas boosted with a SD-1 for grungy Muff tones that are a little tighter. Played Bush, Smashing Pumpkins and Space Hog riffs on it all day. Used my Strat and G&L Fallout too. Sounded great.
Had the house to myself this morning, and Mrs stonge left me a full pot of coffee on her way out. Dragged the Boogie half-back cab out of Madison Square Basement and jammed over backing tracks for a few hours switching between the half-back and the Mather cab with an Eminence Hempdog (Pete Anderson) speaker in it. Forgot how punchy the boogie cab is, but the Hempdog is smoother and rounder. Set up the Dallas II for edge of grind with a Plexi-Drive and Tumnus, and used the mahogany DGT mostly in single-coil mode. Got some nice drive with the pick but it cleaned up picking lighter with fingers. A very nice start to the day...
