What Did You Do With Your Guitar(s) Today?

Been seeing some markings on a couple guitars, minor except for the Vox Bobcat which must have a unique finish - but even it isn't a big deal.

So... today I put GHC's (guitar hanger condoms) on all my hangers. Bought a 12-pack of 100% cotton gloves from Amazon and for 98%, I used the "middle finger", as the other's generally weren't long enough (TWSS). Kinda' fitting anyway, amirite? :hmm

I mean I could've spent $15 PER HANGER from String Swing to fix their design flaw, but that logic escaped me. Plus, they only sell in white, which would look like ass for all but two of my guitars.

Probably could've found better gloves but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And here's the sole remaining middle finger, for String Swing themselves.:cuss And I'm showing my foot at the bottom, ready for their ass! :grin

Been playing the fuck outta my Rockerverb the last couple days. That amp is great but as someone who loves to boost it can be picky about what’s in front of it. My SD-1 has generally sounded great with it but I thought I could do a little better. Busted out my PLXFX Bion Boost (Naga Viper/Treble Booster clone) and HO-LEE SHIT that is the goods. Been using a bunch of different guitars through it. My favorites have been my SG with P90s (tuned to E flat for the Iommi type stuff) and my Strat (SSL6 bridge in standard for some Blackmore riffage). Sounds absolutely amazing with both. Currently abusing my 1960A cab with Greenbacks but I’m gonna have to try it through my Metro cab with G12H Creambacks.

Bion boost is :love

I set out to record the solo for that Rocky tune and initially figured, “I’ll just throw down some shreddy shit and call it a day” but once I actually did that, I wasn’t feeling great about it and wanted to put some effort into it. Spent way more time shredding this weekend than I really ever do and my fingers are just achin’. Even if I think I’m good, the second the tips press down on a string they’re like “Ow, we’re little bitches, leave us alone” :rofl

Well here's the thing since my recent new Ibby guitar, practice & playing time has gone up

I'm doing some testing with these. Never before have I really taken the time to play them side by side. The Gibson Custom Modern Double Cut (CMDC) is an utter beast of a guitar. Chunky neck that can be played everywhere with no constraint. Thick tone that still cuts without being mushy. The LP Standard is easily the best LP I've ever played. I still can't believe the guy I bought it from didn't like it. Smaller neck that's very comfortable. A bit more on the bright side of tone comparatively. It has a great feel that comes from a guitar that you know is just "right". The PRS McCarty is the most balanced in the way you get from a nice PRS. Neck is thicker but not as much as the CMDC. Somewhat dark in tone yet focused.

I was previously thinking these 3 guitars had more overlap in what they could do. But now I'm not so sure. I thought maybe considering selling the PRS to finance other gear. Yet, it be difficult to part with something so refined.

That's a nice stable of horses! :chef

Once or twice a year I play all of my guitars back-to-back-to-back until I make my
way through them all. It is very revelatory. It can lead to unexpected sales, or reaffirm
love and appreciation.

After a stupid Amazon ordeal in ordering 1 rectifier tube for my DRRI, it finally showed up this morning right as I was leaving for work, so I put the amp in my truck and grabbed a guitar. Not the “bring my rig to work and blare it” thing I‘ve been wanting to do, but I’ll be able to turn it up a bit just to ensure it’s working alright and hopefully I can sell this thing or turn it into a Meris LVX!
