What are we watching now?

BB is the better show overall. Without even trying. But I do think Dexter is a much easier rewatch than BB?

Jim Lindsey Dexter to me is better than no Dexter. The prequel cast is really good and the choice to have Michael C. Hall narrate was a smart one.

Dexter is done. Some oddball character motivations aside; I thought it was great.

I don't watch crime shows usually, but like detective stories. I liked the Castle series. The blood and stuff was toned down. Everytime I saw Stana Katic smile, she made me blush. Watched it the time it was re-run.

We just watched Deep Cover from 1992. It's modern noir starring an incredible Lawrence Fishburne putting out an unbelievable performance. I can only hope to be as cool as that motherfucker in my lifetime. This film was so good, so great. The directing was creative and awesome and from none other than Bill Duke, the guy in Predator whose best friend is Jesse The Body Ventura. This is one I'm going to want to see a bunch of times in the future. One caveat: I fucking hate Jeff Goldblum, and I always will. I hate it when other actors are working their asses off then you have some asshole just being quirky to make a "brand" of himself. I've seen many TV show episodes Duke has directed, but I had no fucking clue he could really be an artist like this.

Finished the Crow remake. Opera scene was pretty damn good, Skaarsgard and Huston were pretty damn good, all things considered. Not a good film in the slightest but better than I expected. I wasn't wearing Jncos with fishnet sleeves and black nail polish when the OG came out so I might not have been the original target demographic :bag
I wasn't either but I think most of my friends liked the OG movie.

Your description reminded me of a guy we had in high school. Black hair, nail polish, tall, black leather coat before The Matrix made them cool. We had this rec room type space where students could go hang out and listen to whatever they wanted on the stereo. He was playing black metal on it. Remember, this was in the 1990s when black metal was still basically regarded as Satan worship music. Somebody came in and complained you can't even understand the lyrics. The black metal dude simply replied: "Duh, that's why they're printed on the album sleeve notes!"

My son is in a “we need to watch old series they say is good” phase. So we just finished Breaking Bad, it’s was a good ride for sure. I didn’t like it much first season but after that everything just went straight up. Last season is the best and most intense. Great show. He wants to do Saul’s show to, and then Dexter… and then Prison Break. :roflGosh….
