What’s going on with Marshall??

Could be a shitty money grab move, but I still stand by the statement of the Vietnam DSLs being better built and more reliable than the UK ones. I personally had to deal with one of those crappy UK DSL401s :sofa

Everything on the VC Marshalls are on the cheap. Including the current flagship "hand wired" JCM-800's they have Vietnam trans instead of Dagnall for $4K GTFO --------------

I have one of the last Milton Keyenes Bletchley made DSL's its a damn fine amp and light years ahead of the Viet Cong.

We all have our opines don't we. Some say the Chinese made Les Pauls beat Gibson, i digress.

I have the same exact amp (2009 MLB) as well as the Vietnamese DSL100H. They sound the same but Vietnamese is better made. Not opinion, it's factual:

- chassis mounted power tubes on the 100H (board mounted on the JCM2000)

- thicker, single PCB on the 100H (multiple, thinner PCBs connected by Molex cables on the 2000)

- Resonance pot on the 100H (all or nothing "Deep" switch on the JCM2000).

Even Dave Friedman commented on his podcast that the Vietnamese ones are better made.

As for tone:

I'd love to hear you sound better than this through any of your amps.

And the fact you refer to it as "vietcong" tells me everything about where your bias comes from.

Always putting your foot in your mouth Charveldan...

People are po Bro, but once dem tariffs & tax cuts kick in we all on easy street.

Not voucing for any sellers. Enter at your own risk.
Funny thing about money ... you need it to buy things $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$4

And I can find used Mesas for way cheaper too, what’s your point?
It always cracks me up when someone says they can get something for way cheaper, but they’re talking about used. No shit Sherlock.

Don't you have your "own forum" for your DSL of the day threads ? Why are you pestering folks here ?

Kick rocks punk or i shall taunt you a second time.

No, I said specifically “Still cheaper than a Friedman or Soldano.”

I’m talking new prices, not used prices you find on FB marketplace. My buddy sold his Mark VII combo for $2300. Doesn’t mean I’m going to start going around saying “I can get Mark VII’s for $2300 all day long”.

Anyone with a brain knows used is cheaper. That’s not what I was talking about. Unless you’re being incredibly obtuse, you knew that’s what I was referring to.

As usual, you got nothing.

Always the same trolling, dumb memes, prejudice and not a single clue about anything you run your mouth about. Not to mention you can barely play the guitar. Same old Dan.

The Origin stuff sounds horrible. Absolutely dreadful sounding. Yeah, his kids are running the brand into the ground, burning the ashes, and pissing on the remnants.
I don't like the Origin amps either, but this kind of stuff is not new to Marshall. Before the Origins, it was the MA line, before that, the JCM600s and so on , all the way back to the "town and country" combos from the 70s. Usually their "flagship" amps are good but they always had a few duds in their production lines. I don't think that's a "new owner's" thing.

I love Marshall amps, they're my favorite but they were never really a "high end" manufacturer, even in their most classic years, there were always QC issues and inconsistencies.

Fair enough, but was Jim doing odd stuff like headphones, blutooth speakers, and killing his distribution without having adequate distribution setup to have a relatively seamless transition? What they have now is essentially a year or so without product (aside from the outsourced stuff). A few people have gotten something after waiting and backordering it, but for those who just want to order an amp, good luck finding something. Even their reissued pedal line was a bit of a joke as far as availability for a brand the likes of Marshall.
