Video Games

You gonna do the DLC? I def recommend it
I might! But ill need a little break after beating the main storyline.
Farum Azula is a pretty awesome level overall. The snow areas sucked big time.
Yeah I enjoyed Azula (just finished it and now at ashen Capital). The snow areas were rough, especially the mountain tops. It felt like they just juiced up common over world enemies and said have fun (it wasn't). Malenia was definitely the hardest boss so far for me. Outside that I haven't had too much trouble fortunately

Did you find Placidusax in Azula?

Dang I just looked up the video and no way in hell would I have figured that out 😂

I did just beat the game though 😀 finished up at lvl 160.

Fantastic and stunning game. I don't really understand the story all too well and will need to do some reading. But honestly such a wonderful game with amazing artwork, gameplay, exploration, and secrets. Games like this don't come around often

Fwiw, the Lore of Elden Ring is all over the place - some people make their livings making Lore videos (Smough Town, Vaati...).

Which of the 6 endings did you do? 3 of them get you trophies. (Tip: Save before completion to get all 3 without going into NG+)

The DLC really messed with the Lore folk.

Some interesting games on Sony's showcase just there.
Are these all ETA 2025 games? Hopefully it will be a better year (in this one regard, at least) than 2024. I actually started to think about selling off my consoles last year. Or at least terminating my subscriptions for a while.

Lots of Souls-likes, including some pretty cool Lies of P DLC.
More Lies of P!!! Sign me up please!

Game I'm most excited for is Saros from Housemarque.
Were you into Returnal? I bought it at retail price when it first came out - desperate for something that would show off the haptics in the (then new) PS5 controller. But I thought the game was an total snoozefest.

I loved Returnal. Thought it was one of the best games on the year it came out.

Maybe just not my genre. I've never been into the bullet-hell thing, whether in its typical side-scroller form or in this less common 1st person or over the shoulder 3D presentation. I also thought Returnal was mercilessly repetitive (especially if you weren't great at it, maybe?) and the graphics were surprisingly dull and washed out.

Returnal is literally one of my favorite games of all time. Complete fucking masterpiece

I've been edging for years waiting to see what Housemarque puts out next

Returnal has a similarity with Souls games in that it's all about them boss fights. And those boss fights leave your heart pounding and fist pumping.

I remember at the time I changed the controls so that I didn't have to take my fingers off the sticks much. Made L3 jump instead of X and thing like that.

I went with Ranni (although it seemed very depressing 😂). But I have a feeling there isn't necessarily a "good" ending?

I hated it.

I got frustrated dying to a boss and having to then run all the way back to the fight, and just overall didn't like the gameplay. Random loot is always a minus for me, and I generally don't care for random generated maps either.

The sheer amount of objects and flashing lights on screen at once just causes sensory overload for me, which then makes me anxious.

^This guy gets it^
Well, @Devin is also the guy who made me circle back and give Lies of P a fair shake, and that turned out to be one of my all time faves. So maybe it's time I reinstall Returnal.

I'll keep you posted, but it could go either way. People convince me to give Sekiro an nth chance every so often, and I hate it every time. :D

Red flag: I'm the biggest FromSoft/ soulslike fan in the world, but the boss battles are by far my least favorite parts of these games.

I'm always down for Returnal jolly co-op :love

I'm still waiting to play Lies of P. It hasn't come down to a nice price yet even after over a year.

My wife likes gaming too but is more in solving stuff where I am more about fighting.

Is there a game on game pass, relatively new (so for Xbox X) that we might both enjoy?
