Funnily, I was playing Fallout a couple weeks ago when a friend came over and I got all giddy when I say the station, to which my friend asked why and I started giving her the history lesson on it when she stopped me and said “ya ya ya, the place the guy got shot that kinda started the Revolutionary War?” and I was a bit stunned because this friend is NOT into history, but then she reminded me that I made my own Drunk History episode the night I snapped this picture and sent it to all my Florida friends. :rofl

Maybe some day I’ll upload them, I know I put the facts in but there’s also stuff about Washington and Lincoln Eiffel Towering Redcoats and whatnot so I gotta watch ‘em first before posting freely.
Super mutants round there. Come, come out, wherever you are.

While I hated everything about the practice of law (and am no longer licensed to practice in any state), getting sworn into the MA bar INSIDE Faneuil Hall itself…was pretty epic.

Man, I could imagine!!! The closest I got to that was a server at Dick’s Last Resort thinking I was the singer of Godsmack and getting her co-workers to ask me for autographs. :rofl

Funny, as many times as I’ve seen these buildings, been in them and studied them, I still keep pics of them on my phone as if I only got to visit once. If I ever move to Rome I’m gonna need few hard drives of space!

I’m now obsessed with Fallout 4. I can’t believe I didn’t get into this game before. I’m totally not playing “right” as I’ve downloaded a ton of mods to give me practically infinite supplies while removing the rank requirements to build. For my first playthrough I’m just going to have fun and basically Superman my way through the game while building absurd settlements, the next time I play it I’ll likely try a Survival play through and do it as ‘realistic’ as possible.

Man, I wish Rockstar would allow mods to GTA V on consoles like this. I can only imagine how many kids wanted to became game developers after playing with those mods.

Maybe some day I’ll upload them...
Yes, please! I'm a big fan of both history and drunkenness. :D

Being a former Boston resident of a certain (ahem) vintage, I read "Towering Redcoats" as "Tower Records" the first couple of times. :rofl

Anyway, I don't think anyone's going to be fact-checking your DIY Drunk History videos. ;)

So YT algo must have sensed the presence of a game console. Been getting spammed by a barrage of "20 games you can't play in the dark!!!!" vids. Skimmed through them while in front of the Playstation Store and for god's sake; no idea how anyone has anytime to drop $49.99 every other minute on some AI YT rando's recommendation. I have PS+ and a few of the options are free to download there but good lord. Talk about another expensive hobby to dip into.

My kid and I just did an overnight trip to Boston to see Knights of Tears perform the music of Hollow Knight.

On the one hand, as beautiful as the game and music are…stretching that out to even a short-ish 50 minutes of “concert music” especially for $45 a ticket, was…a bit much.

On the other hand, seeing a bunch of 13 year old nerds dressed as Hornet showing up to enthusiastically take an almost an hour of string quartet music was pretty great to see. The venue was an old gothic church I walked by a zillion times when I lived in Boston but never bothered to take a tour of when it’s open for such things in the summer and was a pretty spectacular spot to sit and take it all in.

Oh my daughter would love that, she loves classical music and we have sat and listened to the Hollow Knight soundtrack together. Hornet's theme is amazing.

Honestly I just save games to my wish list and wait for them to go on sale. That's on Switch 2 though. For Xbox I know my kid has a subscription where he gets a ton of games "free" to play but it costs like $25 a month. It's easy to load up on stuff over time and not play it though.

And games are funny, sometimes I'll drop a lot of money on a game and play it for a few hours, other times I'll buy a $15 game like Hollow Knight and sink about 800 hours into it.

Yeah I need to dig in more and see if there is a save and notify me option in the PS store. I grabbed a bunch of the PS free stuff but I am always down for more options. I need to take a look at Hollow Knight as you guys have praised it a lot on here. It looks like something my old school tastes would really enjoy!

Being a fan of open-world games like BOTW and TOTK, I had to give Cyberpunk 2077 a try on Switch 2, and damn I'm hooked so far.

Hoping Life is Strange: Reunion makes it's way onto Switch 2.

Hollow Knight is amazing, probably a top 10 maybe top 5 game all time for me. It's a Metroidvania crossed with a Dark Souls influence, so it's got elements of platforming, action RPG's, exploration and expansion of the map, challenging boss fights that require practice to learn, etc. Visually it looks awesome even though it's 2D the visuals are great with character design and lighting effects and all that.

I'd just say it's probably the most fun if you try not to spoil anything and just go in as blind as possible. And just know you'll hit a wall with almost every boss, just focus on learning their attacks so you can dodge which makes the fights way easier.

Dug in a fair bit more to 'Still Wakes the Deep' yesterday. Basically; the thing on an oil rig. Great pace, quick story and overall a genuine blast to play. It's free with PS+ so it's a win-win.

One cool thing to try on the PS5 if you're into cars is Gran Turismo 7.

It's an awesome game and the best part is the actual driving feel and physics, especially with the Dual Sense controller. The triggers and haptic feedback do some crazy stuff to convey what the car is doing. Limits of grip, the brakes grabbing and then locking up if you go too far (with ABS turned off), the subtle rumble when you change gear, it's all super cool. Makes me feel a bit better that I don't have a racing wheel and pedals.........yet.

There's a free "demo" on the PlayStation Store called "My First Gran Turismo" which you can use to get a taste of the full game, plus you can unlock 18 cars that you can bring into GT7 if you decide to grab the full game.

Sorry this sounds like an ad, lol. I just really love GT7. :bag

GT7 is awesome - it is pretty insane in the VR2 headset too - I wish I could play it more but motion sickness sets in pretty quick for me with it.
