Here's a thread to share your experiences playing in famous / iconic venues.
I'll start with my experience playing @ CBGBs New Music Night on August 13, 1991. I was playing guitar for the Orlando-based alt rock band, The Spin Men. We traveled to Boston, then Philadelphia, NYC, Charlotte, Miami, Tampa, and back to Orlando for our summer "Stuck in Orlando" tour.
Our NYC gig was at CBGBs New Music Night on Tuesday, August 13, 1991. The night before, and the night after, Ice-T & Body Count played on the same stage.
Unfortunately, New Music Night did not have the same draw and we played in the 4th spot of a 5 band lineup for about 75 patrons. We performed well and appeared to be well received, even though our sound was not the typical OMFUG.
Regardless, it's one of my favorite gigging memories. I stumbled upon a YT video of Body Counts appearance on 8/14/1991 which reminded me of my one time playing at one of the most iconic venues in the USA.
