But does "that world" amount to anything more than branding at this point? It sounds like exploration will be minimal, RPG advancement and reward minimized, etc. I wondering where they'll find room for creative play as opposed to mashing buttons with your BFFs. Granted, From's combat mechanics are always top notch... I just worry this is going to be too stripped down.I'd imagine Nightreign might be cool for those players that devour these games and are always wanting something else to do.
This could potentially scratch that itch for "moar Souls" for those peeps who don't care that it's not a regular experience, they just want more excuses to be in that world and playing?
When in fact, there was always the option of exiting the game (except during boss fights) and returning right where you left off.
The burning question for me about Nightreign is; is this going to be a full price release? Because it sounds like something that should only be €30 at most.
Both are great, absolutely loved Outer Wilds. It's a rare proper adventure that doesn't hold your hand and every run learn something new.Got two more highly rated puzzle games on sale, Tunic and Outer Wilds. I should have my hands full for a while.

Tunic was one of my favorite games of 2022 - soo cool
Nightreign is on all our wish-lists and may sign up for the Network Test coming up.
The combat gets easier when you gain more skills, but it's definitely tough for a good while. The early bosses don't have a whole lot of moves though, so learning them isn't that much work.Several hours into Tunic, it's a pretty fun game at this point. I'm not spoiling anything, but it's extremely vague about how to play the game, and it reveals it by having you discover pages to the instruction manual (which is almost like a strategy guide if you were around in the 90's). But that's written in some kind of weird language that you can't understand. It's really interesting.
Anyways so far, the RPG and collecting elements are great, the visuals are really good, the exploration is good too. But the combat does feel really clunky, like it's a lot harder to fight than it needs to be. I can't tell if that's intentional or not...you could say part of the challenge is getting past the clunky combat, but I think of really good combat like Hollow Knight where it's so fluid.
I'm at the point where I have to beat a couple hard bosses to progress, and I can't grind to get stronger, so will have to actually learn the strategies and keep working on the combat.

Loved the strategy guide, it has a lot of stuff and also a bunch of hidden things that I would have never been able to figure out myself.
Kiddos got me a Series X for Xmas. Banged out Indiana Jones over the last few days. (Great game)
I’m debating whether to even try Elden Ring. Im worried about the quick rage quit potential with it.
Anything else cool out there atm?
Elden Ring is probably the least rage-y of those games because it's open world. You can usually go off an explore and out any challenging parts off indefinitely.
F it. Downloading. Been wanting to try it for a while and even if I hate it, at least I can say I tried.
Vagabond or Samurai to start? (These seem to be the consensus opinion as best newb starting classes)
Samurai is fairly easy to start. Relatively easy.
Have you never played any Souls game?
