The NDSP Nano Cortex…

I guess there´s a diffrence in what those units offer.

First, if you want capturing, that excludes Boss and Line6.

Then, even when Ampero II is small, I think that size in this case is not only about "small" vs "big"... but instead "for pedalboard integration" or not. In this case, the clear winner for that use is the NC, since it´s notably smaller AND is easily powered with any normal pedalboard PSU. With juat an standard PSU (1A) I´m powering a Boss MS-3, a Valeton analog compressor, a Valeton BD2 analog overdrive, a Fishman Platinum Pro/EQ and the NC.
The Ampero 2 Stomp requires 800 mA (NC is 600 mA it seems), but sure, that's enough that you probably need a doubler cable at least.

I really see the Ampero 2 Stomp more as a compact "use it alone" box where I'm not too interested in adding other pedals to it because it does so much already inside the box. HX Stomp is just a bit underpowered for that.

It was crazy that boosts/drives weren’t there at launch. 90% of my tones are gate/boost/amp. If I was gigging that would go into a poweramp/cab but of course IRs are great for everyday use or to FOH. Couldn’t do that before due to lack of boosts but it’s all there now.

It’s a pretty attractive affordable box that can do captures, load captures and all the rest of it. I’m sure plenty of people are fine with the mobile app to get things going and then just flick through presets once it’s all going. I could definitely see myself grabbing one of these to leave at rehearsal and use for certain gigs.

It edges out on what tonex and kpp offer and if I wasn’t a NAM nerd I wouldn’t care about NAM pedals, this would be more attractive to do it all in one. It’s in a pretty good shape now imo.

Pretty transformative update, for sure.

Also, the most likely explanation as to why QC owners have been getting radio silence.

I have to question if this size and price difference is really worth not having a proper onboard UI, the ability for more complex signal chains and a way bigger list of effects.

Yeah, this.

As this is an incredibly smart update, defenitely adding a whole lot of value to the thing, I was instantly thinking "oh, maybe I need to reconsider some things...", but then I was looking at the Stomp and my thoughts were exactly like yours.
I *might* think differently in case this thing had endless encoders. But it doesn't - and that alone would annoy me to no end. So I rather save my money for something else and continue being happy with the Stomp (ok, I am a little jealous because of the *way* better pitch shifting NDSP has on offer).

I'm probably a bit out of the loop on this, but when I owned my QC, the pitch shifting wasn't very good unless you played with a lot of gain, which masked many of the audible artefacts from the monophonic pitch shifter. It was very much like the Helix's Simple Pitch.

Has the pitch shifting improved that much? Is it polyphonic now?

Oh, ok. I only ever tested one or two of their plugins and remember to quite like the pitch shifting.

Except those of us who have Kemper Players, which slays this thing STILL in like every way imaginable. But yeah, good update.....
Idk, depends on what you want. The NC can profile amps and pedals, is more accurate (which I understand may not be important as long as it sounds good), has a good bit of effects now, is smaller, and is cheaper.

The Player has a larger ecosystem of effects and profiles, it can have more effects but you have to pay for some.

I still am confused as to why someone wouldn't buy a used Kemper head or rack for $750-$800, have all the Kemper effects, updates, and ability to profile vs a player. I guess if the footprint was super important to you it would make sense but outside that I don't get it

Bummer that the Nano has no Aux-In or Bluetooth audio. Kills it as a practice/couch rig.

Maybe they can update the firmware for Bluetooth audio in the future.

@JiveTurkey, please tender one photograph of a ridiculous-looking pedalboard with a Kemper toaster bolted on sideways, as to facilitate Mongillo19's "getting it". :rofl

I don't know this for sure, but I'd be willing to bet the USB-C port will push audio from any Class-compliant device (iPhone, etc. etc. etc.) to Outputs 1/2.

Massive update! Honestly pretty intrigued by it now it has better functionality. I like that it has the capture ability built in.

The Player ironically has some features not in the Toaster.
