The NDSP Nano Cortex…

I just went looking for the welsh version (sgod a sglod).
But then found this:

Yep. You found it.

This is definitely on my radar. Why they've not added more reverb, delay, and modulation options is beyond me, but hey......that's our NDSP!

The single on-board reverb effect does more than you might think.

It seems to be lexicon-inspired and has a lot of quite broadly tunable parameters, which can take it from a lush ambient hall to a subtle room-like effect.

So having only one reverb really isn't so bad IMO.

I will derail threads and talk about valve amps and the Boogie Mark V specifically ALL DAY ALL DAY!

I made fun of them for choosing "Mind Hall" when they first announced it. On the face of it, it seems a weird choice if you're just picking one reverb. But I've actually been using the Mind Hall more often on QC, and I agree it's quite versatile.

Yeah, the idea of Mind Hall annoyed me too when I heard about it, and I was expecting it to be sub par; but I'm enjoying it well enough.

I'm going to join the chorus of whiners begging for a drive option in front of the amp. Such an incredible whiff on Neural's part. With that one change, I suspect they would instantly get a lot more attention to this little device.

I suspect Neural will get around to just this... at some point. But I'm not holding my breath on when.

In the meantime, a question that I know has been bandied about elsewhere (and to which I have never paid any real attention before), but how well does capturing a Quad Cortex rig work? I've got a dual amp rig (AC15 and Twin Reverb) that I absolutely love. Capturing this into a single capture for use on a Nano would definitely spike my interest in the device. If this is something that could produce good results, I could probably get down with just running a drive pedal in front of the Nano until Neural finally gets around to include a drive in the onboard effects.

Capturing does what it says on the box.
How you monitor that capture and the degree to which you can accept miced sound versus directcab sounds….will determine how much you like it.
Standing in between a AC15 and a Twin versus a perfect capture of those into 1 wedge…KO for the wedge in round 1. ;)

I think maybe they didn’t put drives in cause the hardware has no switches toggle those anyway…and you can always include them in the capture.
