Listen for the post solo drum fills as your rhythm section litmus test.Gonna drop some Queensryche on them tomorrow, and see what comes of it. Worked
up Jet City Woman and I Don't Believe In Love.
That'd be SO cool being in a band doing those songs, or ones like them.Gonna drop some Queensryche on them tomorrow, and see what comes of it. Worked
up Jet City Woman and I Don't Believe In Love.

The singer will either be really psyched or sh!t his pants.I never mentioned any of it. Just gonna break it out on them to weigh interest----and because
I want to hear the singer attempt it.
They have a fairly fun list with a lot of songs I have not played before. From The Ramones to The Cult.
That sucks. It's one thing to have your band together and be up and running and say "ehh we don't need to practice this week" but if they are this flaky, this early; UGH.Them motherf***rs!! Last week was told to show this Wednesday. I am getting ready to pack up
and think, "I better send a text and check in."
Get reply, "Other guitarist can't make it this week," and apparently no one was going to let me know.
This is why we can't have nice things.
In spite of the cool digs and great singer, I am going to give this another week or two (next week
being the 4th of July I expect something to "come up"), and if things are still this chaotic and
unpredictable I am bailing. They can get some other guitarist to not show up because rehearsal
got cancelled for one reason or another.
This is exactly why I hate bands, and if I'm being honest with myself, will probably never be in one again. It's so hard to find the right group of people, and just when you do, just when you think it's coming together, BAM, something happens.Them motherf***rs!! Last week was told to show this Wednesday. For me; we are all there or no one is. That's just how our band rolls. We have been going for years, though. I would plan on a break week next week as well given the holiday. If they bail the week after that; I'd definitely hang up the idea for this group. Which sucks.

My buddy, who has a great 80's band, has had to jump through all sorts of hoops to keep his band together, moving from drums, to bass, now learning keys (which isn't nearly as 'easy' as he thought it would be), to firing/re-hiring his party-drunk keyboardist brother a number of times, etc.
Another bud of mine has ditched bands altogether (the awesome bassist/singer) in favor of a solo acoustic act, and no amount of discussion will bring him back, even for a one-off show.
Now you know why they’re short a guitar player …If I plan a party and no one shows I am still going to find a way to have an helluva good time.
I hate the cancel the whole thing cause one person has something come up----because each week it
can be someone different. Oh, your turn to bail because of this and that. Next week the drummer. Week
after we draw straws to see who can't make it.
Just get your ass there or don't be "in a band."
