The "Going To An Audition" Thread

I know seasonal adjustments are going to happen 2x per year. It helps keep my skills honed
and my guitar's dialed in and setup well. :chef
Since getting my first Majesty in March 2019, this is the first winter I've had any issues. Both of them have only needed slight tuning adjustments, and sometimes not even that when I pick them up. But the JP15 I got last year needed about a half-turn on the TR a few weeks back, and it developed some fret sprout.

But it's been super-cold this winter, so I did get a humidifier, and the Enchanted Forest just came back out of the case last night, so we'll see how it does. Though the temps have gotten back to "normal." KOW

And just so I'm clear, 'fret sprout' is basically the neck width shrinking slightly, right? Iow, it isn't frets raising up at their ends, correct? On my JP, I can feel their ends protruding ever so slightly past the edge of the board, but that's it. And it doesn't bother me or my playing.

I told you not get me started on truss rods. Weather is just up and down like a roller coaster this year. At least many of mine have the wheels.

Yes, fret sprout is due to the moisture leaving the wood, causing it to shrink. If you file them down you should be all set. I've done a couple.

It's been just weirdly lacking in snow in the Fox Valley of Wisconsin. However people keep referring to something about a witch's titty, and I agree. The wind chill will decapitate you.

Had a blast last night. So. Much. Fun. Our original drummer has been coming
more and more consistently. No struggle. Just flow. We just get each other. :chef

I broke out a couple System of a Down songs, that it looks like we'll be working
up going forward. :banana

I was crabby yesterday, and thought of bailing. My energy was just off all day.
I powered through, though, and realized once again what a profound healing
mechanism music and friendship truly are. Blasted that crap out of me with volume. :headbang
