Is this the first practice with the new over-eager, nutty bassist from your past?
That was a Drummer, too. He's moving to the town I live in next week. We'll see how that
plays out. I struggle with the hyper-caffeinated folks.

I resemble this remarkhyper-caffeinated folks.
w00t!! Did. the. Mississippi. bassist. show. again?
hyper-caffeinated folks
Nice! Wanting to jam on a weekend is rare in some parts so it shows enthusiasm in that regard certainly!Supposed to get together tonight with Chuck "I Love Caffeine A Lot" the drummer.
Fingers crossed .
I would be down for a weekend jam. But I have found that cover band stuff is always relegated to a weeknight treat is all. Refreshing indeed!Yeah, we never jam on the weekends anymore. Old, washed-up, never-was, lazy fuckers that we are!
But with Jive Turkey Day on Thursday, when we normally get together, we all seemed to want to
do it tonight. I say, "Refreshing!"
Sextuplets, at the end. Brutal sextuplets.Bark At The Moon
(Yeah, don't ask about the solos. )
Find a bassist, cover LA Villa Strangiato dead on. Dynamics problem solvedSo Chuck has an emotional support Chihuahua. No shit! Cool little critter. He hung while we
blasted out tunes for about 4 hours. Yes, Chuck is super-hyped and never shuts the fuck up,
but damn that dude can play the drums. He legit seems to know every rock/metal song from
the past 40 to 50 years. Damn! That's what being a Drum Instructor will get for the past two
decades will get ya. He says it is students that forced him to learn so many songs, and playing
in a variety of different bands over the years.
We rocked out some tunes we have never played before, or even thought of. Bark At The Moon
(Yeah, don't ask about the solos. ) l You Can't Kill Rock-N-Roll by Ozzy, Last Resort for JT,
because I know he loves himself some Papa Roach.
He's already talking about next Thursday. Since he is only about an half a mile from me, and is
local I suspect he's already locked into the spot.
My two quibbles (always have to have a quibble or three ) are his dynamics are less than
stellar. He admits to being a power hitter and that means sometimes songs start at the same
volume on the drums as they do when a song crescendos. Also, double bass. Goddamn I hate
the double-bass so hard sometimes. It's literally like some dude two-handed tapping on the guitar
at the end of every verse/chorus/transition. WTF? Can you say, "inappropriate and uncalled for?"
I am tying one foot behind his back so he can't (over)use that freaking double-bass cheater pedal.
Double-bass flourishes/fills in every mother fucking song!?!?! Fuck off!!
It is very Chuck, though.
You know, that's a great question. I remember asking Todd (RIP) about that, but I can't remember what he said.Yeah, are those 5s or 6s, Tom??
That Outro Solo is still fire!
