The Fuzz Thread

I picked up a Hiwatt MKII clone. I like it a lot the THICK controls the lows so it doesn't get too fizzy. The FILTER knob is a three-way switch that does some intresting stuff with the mids but has a very lo-fi hipster sound to my ears. Not really usable for what I do. My only complaint is that this pedal could have a touch more output, a little more oompf.

Returning the Fuzz Bender, we just aren’t getting along. I FOMOed and caved to the hype (I think because I had to wait so long for them to get restocked my expectations were unreasonable).

A good friend gave me a Bender Royale for my birthday. Deep dive tomorrow, as I took a couple days off.

He's also a pedal addict, so we developed the tradition of growing each others collection once a year, and no one can complain because "it's a gift".

So far it's a really cool MKIII, very tweakable, but I think I gotta mess with the impedance trimmer.

Running it with a wah ? I like MKIII circuits, so your take on the tone will be good to know

Tried it into a Morley down the chain, since I prefer wah after fuzz. Seems to do fine as expected.

I'll try and work the trimmer tomorrow, maybe I can coax out a bit more raunch/aggressiveness.

Cool, I was using a MKIII the other day. It sounds like it should which is great, but is smoother and more refined. It's just "different" compared to the earlier circuits.

In my mind I equate it to circa Page 72 ish tone. Can't argue about that tone.

A few hours in, and turning the impedance trim all the way CCW was a good idea.
