Thanks for posting those, I've never seen gut shots for that transistor combo before. Q1 must have no virtually no leakage, they've used a 51k bias resistor instead of 33k. Also is that pedal really loud? They've used a 1k resistor as part of the voltage divider network, usually that's 470r or maybe 680r in a FF.

Fwiw, did anyone check the T Rex Fuzztopia? Pretty attractive price and some demo videos sound pretty decent - would still like to know how well it cleans up.

It might seem vulgar, but I've been digging the Warm Bender lately. Bought it when it hit the stores and completely forgot about it. My first impression was very "meh" due to it's noise level, but it's a killer fuzz now that I have the PT Gate on board!
The MK1.5 mode appears to be an Italian V828 rather than a Fuzz Face or British MK1.5 circuit. Nasty toanz in there, on par with a Super Fuzz, despite the lack of octave.
Maybe a proper V828 clone is what I've been searching all these years...

Love that, Thorpy did an amazing job with these. This one's my attempt at cloning it
It's my favourite all rounder FF, it works just as well with humbuckers as it does with strats.
My favourite with a strat is a Nkt275 sunface but it's not so great with a LP. The Tacit Blue, however, works with everything.

Acid Fuzz Italian is a good V828. Has an external bias control and a switch for Vox/Fat. I have one...it is gnarly.

A friend of mine has ordered the recent Vox VFZ-1 and we'll do some A/B soon. Might be a cheap shot, but who knows? Not boutique, but it looks legit, I'd say.
The Warm Bender is slightly too big for my board. It's alright for now, but I had to install two risers, because the PT Gate's side jacks got in the way, making the board awkwardly tall.
