He must just prefer the UA amp models for his main sounds?

IIRC his amp tones were multiple Voxes, miked in individual isoboxes - which must've been an absolute logistical nightmare to deal with.

So, once you find a modeling solution offering comparable sounds...

It’s not inconceivable.

It makes a lot of sense. He's basically keeping his rig the same. Just replacing his amps with pedals one for one. No need for a major overhaul with things he's evolved for years.

My only exposure to the UA stuff is the Lion 68, which I know got a lot of love here, but it just doesn't sound right to me at all.

There's also the simplicity of the pedal format, easy-access knobs to turn, etc.
